does anyone know how this can be performed, or how i can devise a clickable link that would give me information such as the person's IP address ?

You could direct them to about any page on your server and get their ip address from your logs.

send them to a 404 page on a server you own and go look at your stats and get their IP ;]

One time someone sent me a harassing e-mail from one of my php forms on a site, so I looked in my logs for that site at the time I received the e-mail then searched the IP on my forum users list and matched it to someone who worked at my former employer. It was pretty sweet.

send them a direct connect request and if they accept run a netstat in commnad prompt and it should show their ip
