Does anyone rollerblade?

I seen this guy getting pulled from his and dog and he looked like he was having a blast.

Thinking about checking it out.

Any tips, thoughts?

And Who actually does it?

u-Bob 08-27-2005 12:43 PM

I don't....

BJ 08-27-2005 12:44 PM

fun until your dogs feet get chapped.

Yes, I rollerblade, It's really fun, you just need to find a nice path for it, and make sure you don't get cheap rollerblades. stay away from the ones that are plastic and have clips. My advice is to look at some Mission hockey rollerblades with laces, and make sure you don't go cheap. :thumbsup

Good to know, I was thinking Targe' but I will check out big5 instead.

Dogs feet chapping? Hmm I am interested if this might really happen. Can't they run on concrete o.k. and why is pulling someone that much worse?

Would you want to pull something while walking on concrete in bare feet? Try it. Pull a buddy on a skateboard in barefee, then do it with shoes on. Big difference.

Another thing people don't think about is that your dog's head is at exhaust pipe height. So when you're walking on a busy street, try to keep your dog away from the cars as much as possible.

Those are really good points, first of all I don't think a dog should have to pull you, that defeats the whole purpose of rollerblading. Also, dogs get tired really quickly in the heat and dehydrate while out for walks, it's way worse if they have to pull someone. also, their feet will be injured from pulling the person.

Bottom line: leave the dog alone at home and go roller blade alone :thumbsup

Wear your knee.elbow pads and a helmut

toddler 08-27-2005 01:11 PM

I do when i have time. Good points above, and as Spunky says, wear your protection. I make my money with my brain and my hands. If you break either, you're done for a while.

:1orglaugh Ya, no kidding that could really suck.

BigBen 08-27-2005 01:42 PM

My dog used to pull me all the time. She got in some good exercise and I didn't really have to do anything. Just make sure you get a harness and not just a collar. As for rollerblades, don't be cheap. The more expensive ones are much more comfortable and smoother. You'll get killer blisters with cheap ones. It's been a while since I've done it or even looked at inline skates - but just try some on and see what feels the best. :2 cents:

blazi 08-27-2005 01:43 PM

i love rollerblading and i agree find a good path and don't go cheep on the blades. i have the hockey ones and they are great

LauraLee 08-27-2005 02:01 PM

i rollerblade, and love it. killer exercise and fun. i used to do a shitton of blading, 32 miles a shot (the trail i rode was 2 miles long and i would generally do it 16 times). i agree that it's best to get a good pair, you get what you pay for big time. i just recenty bought my 4th pair and love them. they are k2's softboot. powder blue  i am totally digging them.

have fun if ya do give it a shot.

Babagirls 08-27-2005 03:27 PM

Peace 08-27-2005 03:36 PM

I Spend like 2-5 hours a day making all my go here and there on them...in NY more then in Russia better roads

chaze 08-27-2005 08:39 PM

OMG so I'm doin it in huntington beach on the peir path and I suck bad but got better after an hour or so.

Anyways this hottie in a two piece starts talking to me, and one things leads to another and she wants to meet me tommarrow and skate together :liebe028:

This was after she asked a random familly for pen to get my digits. :drinkup

And to makes things weirder, Rob Zombie was there with his women and his girlfriend was telling me how she tried and at shit so bad her butt bounced three times. So she will not touch blades again.

Crazyness for my first blade run, oh blading was fun and good work out too. And no one called me a girly man, atleast I didn't notice anyone. :disgust

lol awesome, sounds like you had a good time, when you get good at it, take of the brake and start working on crossovers, acceleration and control. then you'll be really having fun. :thumbsup

Aneros Josh 08-28-2005 12:32 AM

if you're gonna go rollerblading, just don't admit it to any of your guy friends that you do...unless you're canadian, then it's ok... :)

aico 08-28-2005 12:35 AM

The hardest part about Rollerblading is explaining to your parents that you're gay...

They don't call 'em "fruit boots" and "flame blading" for no reason...

Nader 08-28-2005 12:39 AM

I love hockey so i ice/blade and love it...for me it's a love and i kick ass
on blades..once you get it going it's really fun and a good source of
exercise. Do it man you won't regret it :thumbsup

I knew I would get shit I have already, but I don;t give a fuck. I used to get shit for driving my 74 convert beetle in college. Of course it was my friends that never got any action that used to talk shit. :Oh crap

EviLGuY 08-28-2005 04:06 AM

I love rollerblading. It's a great workout and a good way to get from point a to point b in the summer. :)

ohhh.. i have k2s too! you definately want good skates.. pay $300+ for decent ones and they will last a longgg time too!

its more fun having your partner pulling you along than a dog...dogs are not very soft when breaking your fall either ;)

fuzebox 08-28-2005 09:07 AM

Before I left Vancouver I would do the my place, around the Seawall, and back every day, which is about 12km... I'd do it at a very hard sprint though, passing cyclists etc, was definitely a hard workout.

adamneve 08-28-2005 09:12 AM

thinkinh of buying myself a pair

camouflaged123 08-28-2005 09:17 AM
