Not sure if this was posted! Feds bust spam porn operation
(August 27) A Phoenix, Arizona federal grand injury has indicted three individuals for multiple violations of the CAN SPAM Act including sending unsolicited obscene materials, money laundering and criminal conspiracy. A fourth defendant in the alleged conspiracy has already pleaded guilty and marks the first CAN SPAM conviction related to the transmission of obscene email.
The rest of the story! Anyone we know? |

Thanks for the post man.
Indicted on transmission of obcene material? Fuck, what were they transmitting? I hope it wasn't just regular old porn! |
they are always saying obscene when they actually mean pornographic. always using the more "illegal" word to make it look worse than it really was.
|
smut peddling 101:
don't foist your shit on the unwilling by using subterfuge (unsolicited email). |
and add a possible 2 yr sentence for a 2 2 5 7 violation
|
600,000 complaints in 6 months? That's over 3,000 people per day who actually bother to go as far as submitting an official complaint... the amount of people they were actually mailing must have been unbelievable

"Schaffer is also charged with one count of operating three pornographic Web sites without including required statements describing the location of identification and other records for the performers portrayed in the Websites, as is required by federal law."
