Who are the best/top SEO marketers?

Are most of them well known or anonymous? Do most push traffic to sponsors or to programs/sites of their own?

Quotealex 08-27-2005 07:13 AM

Yes xxxjay does well, allthough his site is less evident in the serps nowadays, someone with long term results that show in the engines still is swami he also will consult from somewhere between $200-$300 an hour.

Myself i wouldnt waste my own time for less then $200-$250 an hour, and it would take more then an hour, you can be sure of it.

The people above that stated the ones who will consult for a fee are the ones who cant do it are completely incorrect. While there is lots of poser SEO's there are a few who know there stuff.

If a guy can provide more then 1 result from the engines (big results, not cheesy results) then you will most likely learn something from them.

Everything about regular SEO can be found on se forums.
If you can read and got half a brain - there's no need to pay outrageous $300 / hour.

Then there are black hats, who usually are very skilled at programming and have custom made scripts to spam the hell out of SEs. Nobodie's gonna teach you that.

Im guessing you have some top notch keywords from the stuff you read? Or are you lacking the half a brain to accomplish it?

Just curious.

Its funny you say that its not worth the $300 an hour for info from people who make that befor breakfast everyday.

Heh, I don't complain about the se traffic i'm getting :)

Anyway, the $300/hour people will teach you the basic stuff. (backlinks, optimization, link patterns, pagerank, sandbox etc). You can read all that on SE forums.

The problem is, that info won't let you start making money immediately. There is a lot of hard work involved - content, pagerank, backlinks etc.

yes, main portion of real SEs experts will not ever publicly admit what they do. Lets say, if they ever admit it, you can simply track them back what they do, even wiredguy´sites.
As i know there is some member of GFY, who was pushing on his general exit console(feeded by his primary SE sites) around 400-300k a day of traffic(he forgot to remove public counter from this console :-) )
i havent seen him ever to post publicly how much he is good at SEO.
but on another board (where noneone knows him) he posted that he is already retired :winkwink:
So you see thats really easy to track someone who is present on webmaster boards :winkwink: And thats why a lot of real SEOs avoid such publicity on boards.

I wouldn't say shun publicity, but don't promote themselves constantly.

The best SEOs I know typically don't provide services to people. They know they can make far more on their sites. However, with guys like xxxjay, if you're going to be offered $300/hour to consult, you do it. He was way ahead of the SEO game and is still one of the most knowledgeable people I see post on the topic.

loverboy 08-27-2005 02:31 PM

you can run some SEO forums which can give you best advise even for free
though it will really take a while if you are aiming at the top of the food chain

400k SE traffic, that's incredible. That's bigger than most TGP's!

yes, that was really funny, that guy was using only one exit page popup with all of his domains and counter from exit page beatead main part of the top ten sextracker pages (all of them were(are) tgps) :winkwink:
but as i guess, he wont make ever such mistake as putting public counter on his pages anymore :-) as he isnt probably interested at adult anymore :-)

I wonder if anyone has tried to add a few years to their expiration date and seen results in their serps?
