Is anyone technically-minded?
I have to transfer a domain to someone who's hosting a new website for us as part of a joint venture, but all he's given me is an IP address. Normally I change the nameservers - I've never done it with just an IP address.
The domain is registered through godaddy.com. Do I need to set up nameservers somewhere and put his IP address within that? Can anyone explain how it works? :helpme |

If I put the IP address into my browser, it just comes back with:
No web site is configured at this address. |

go to the domain registration control panel and replace the ip with what he gave you.

Enter your domain and IP to see if they've set up a DNS record for your domain. |

Login > MyDomains > Click On The Domain > Expand Total DNS > Total DNS and MX Records > Launch Total DNS Control Panel > Edit the @ to the IP you want to point to.

Make sure you're using godaddy's nameservers also.
