Where can you move to live like a king cheap and has low crime?

Lets hear them. Low cost of living, high standard of living, low crime rate. Where can you get the best combination of the three.

eroswebmaster 08-25-2005 11:01 PM

A small town in Texas.

phatzaneŽ 08-25-2005 11:02 PM

crack shack drive, anytown USA...

Low cost of living, high standard of living, low crime rate? good luck.... :1orglaugh

BigCashCrew Dude 08-25-2005 11:04 PM

i think there are a ton of places with low cost and you can live well for cheap daily...but low crime rate is a hard one anymore

necoeds 08-25-2005 11:06 PM

panama... ask dugmor, he'll tell you all about it...

Damian_Maxcash 08-25-2005 11:07 PM

New Zealand

Its not third world cheap but not bad - crime is very low - Mediteranian Climate and great living standards.

Good luck getting in though - unless you want to marry me of course :)

TheJimmy 08-25-2005 11:10 PM

Boise, ID

if it had a few things I need for the next 4-5 years I'd move there directly...

small town, decent size conveniences...SUPER low crime rate, weather (so so)...clean

:thumbsup

big downside is no ocean :( I'd way miss that...but a lot of areas in the pacific northwest are worth checking out, and cost of living isn't so bad when you get to the sticks in the pacific northwest, it's only sick pricing in Cali imo

bangkok
belize
baja california
cebu city
all white towns in ia under 50k population

lots of choices. now the trick is gainful employment in these places.

baja california is a good one, short hop back to the states for fun.

But Eros nailed it, Texas is about as cheap as it gets. I was there with a buddy last year and former Houston Oilers great Earl Campbell's mansion was up for sale in a sweet gated community nearby. We paid it a visit and it was pimp, easily a $3-4M home in Orange County, and $5-7M in Bel Air/Beverly Hills.

Know how much it was listed for in Texas?

$1.1M.

7,000sqft, six bedrooms, massive pool, a fishable lake beyond that, three acre lot, four car garage, two stories, decked out fixtures, it was cribs-worthy for sure.

If only their weather didn't completely suck balls, suck the hardest ballsucking balls you have EVER seen....it makes Florida seem "dry and cold" in the summer, holy shit.

I've lived in NZ, the cost of living there is about the same as the US, maybe slightly cheaper.

New Zealand is possibly the world's most beautiful country.

New Zealand is the adventure sports capital of the world. Bungy jumping, jetboats, skydiving, skiing, diving, sailing, hiking....there's a lot of things to die from in New Zealand, but boredom is not one of them.

It can be a bit of a bore, but if are a real outdoors person that wouldnt be the case. Best scenery, best walks and best fishing in the world.

Its moved on a lot in terms of food and wine and "the good life" in the last 10 years as well.

montel 08-26-2005 02:56 AM

hmm i think you should consider the tax implications of where you choose to live. Australia and new zealand for instance have good quality of life but high taxes...

man, I've seen documentaries as well, some places are breathtakingly beautiful

what my friend said was that basically people keep to themselves, not that easy to make new frineds if you're outsider, and social life really sucked

On what subject? Adventure sports or New Zealand?

Jensen 08-26-2005 03:00 AM

one other problem with New Zealand is their 3rd world view of women.. so if you have a girlfriend etc that needs work .. I wouldn't go (advice from my uncle and family in auckland).. stayed there for a month though and its just DEAD CHEAP compared to the scandic countries..

The new friends part is just not true.... we are some of the friendliest people on earth!!

Social life can be an issue if your talking about night clubs etc - but if you prefer hot Sunday afternoons at the neighbours BBQ or even these days good food at a great restuarant then its perfect.

Show me somewhere in the world where it is easy to make friends? IMO, it's just as easy to make friends in NZ as it is anywhere else. Maybe it's not NZ, maybe your friend is socially dysfunctional?

Thats the biggest croc I have ever heard!!

The last 2 primeministers are women..... They even have a Transexual MP!

They have a complete No Discrimination law - you just cant discriminate against anybody for anything there.

Here's a newsflash for you: women have problems getting jobs compared to men all over the world.

By the way, on top of New Zealand having women Prime Ministers, New Zealand was also the first major country to give women unrestricted right to vote.
