Why do you need a windows box ? to run the license's?

detoxed 08-25-2005 08:46 PM

LOL, I wouldnt waste my time doing 1 windows box, but I've been telling people that have their own p2p methods to contact me for a few days now.... Why waste your time on 1 server? Why not 20-50-100? Of course different methods have different requirements.... but hey I have money to invest in projects that can generate huge monthly returns

If you think all you need is a dedicated server to run your P2P clients and share your files, then you're sadly mistaken. Don't waste your time. It's like buying 500k of traffic to a TGP and expecting a 500k/day site in result.

Make sure p2p's work on that box. Lot of datacenters block ports.

you can buy lots servers and not one will end up working.

Doesn't matter if you have 10 dedicated servers, if you don't know the protocols and how to exploit, then you're wasting serious bandwidth. You need to know how to interlink your hubs, tweak settings and situate your leafs and hubs so they become the core of the P2P network, where you are no more than 3 hops away from 90% of 1.8million clients.

You need to create your own P2P application so it hides that fact that you're sharing DRM protected files. Shareaza for example shows a $$$ icon for DRM files in the result page when surfers search for videos. If DRM spam gets out of hand and affects the quality of P2P usage, developers such as Limewire, Bearshare, Gnucleus, Shareaza will automatically hide DRM files as spam, killing the distribution of your files completely.

In my opinion, Kazaa will most likely automatically hide DRM files in future versions of its software as they already charge companies to distribute DRM files.

Absolutely.

For an unnamed host, I recieved 3 cofirmations that legal P2P activity on the network is allowed, only to find out it's all blocked after ordering 5 servers.
