They would be good for hosted gallerys as well. Argonblue has been in business for quite a while and pretty surprised they can give those kind of deals. I think they are Hurricane Electrics #1 reseller :thumbsup

Yep I am a competitor, but I know H E. The peering is just not really that hot. And 4.50 per meg is less than wholesale cost. Plus it looks like you are just cuttingt for web and pasting spam meant for web hosting talk. I never do competitor spam unless its way too good to be true. You look like a gfy old timer by the post count, so maybe you made a deal with them and such and H E can be ok for FHG's, but the rate you would have to oversubscribe at 4.50 is 20 to 1, cuz the ISP figures 10:1 and the hosting company figures 5:1 and add to it. OUCH, thats a lot of over subscription. But, if it works, you get a great deal.

SomeCreep 08-25-2005 09:21 PM

With hosting, you tend to get what you pay for. I wouldnt trust bandwidth that cheap.

I don't profit from posting this, I just know a good deal when I see it. I know lot's of GFYers use a ton of bandwidth and tons of host are on here like hawks trying to get more business. Argonblue and Egihosting are two of the largest resellers at He.net and I bet they get even better deals than this.

Buy from He.net Directly, as low as $10/Mbps!
If you have your own AS number and address space he.net has a new promotion for you! Buy up to 200 Mbps or more delivered via gige and get an equal amount, up to 200 Mbps free!

This promotion can be used with any new orders, with a limit of one per customer, and is only available over the same connection as the initial order.

For example, a customer could order 200 Mbps @ $20/Mbps and get an extra 200 Mbps included for free, for a total of 400 Mbps as the base traffic included. Additional traffic over 200 Mbps would be billed at $20/Mbps.

This means that if you qualify for the offer, you can get 400 Mbps burstable on a Gig-E interface for only $4000! Thats $10/Mbps for the first 400 Mbps!

This offer is avalible at any he.net pop, and is avalible for a limited time only. Send me an email at [email protected], or call me at 1-800-845-0146 x122 for more details.

If you don't qualify for this offer, remember that he.net has great rates for you also! An unlimited 100Mbps connection (via 100BT) is only $2000/month, or choose a full gig for only $13,000/month! Have another need? Email or call and we will work on a custom quote for you!

he.net pops include:
Equinix Ashburn, Equinix San Jose, Equinix Chicago, Equinix Dallas, Equinix LA, Level 3 NY (111 8th Ave), Telehouse New York, PAIX Palo Alto, Hurricane Fremont (760 Mission Court, Fremont CA), Hurricane San Jose (55 South Market, San Jose CA), NIKHEF Amsterdam, and London Telehouse Docklands East. Watch for new locations coming soon!

Hi Nylz,

42U is a "kast" for a lot of server. 1U is space for 1 server....

The more U, the more servers it can store.

Most servers use 1 or 2 U space

Why? Because that is less important? We offer our hosted galleries on isprime as well. Because they are in our opinion VERY important for our affiliates.

When they have all our FHG's listed, and the fhg's are down, it will hurt their site as well....Companies that don't take their FHG's serious, shouldn't be taken serious at all

Price is strange low....
I undestand 12 or 15 dollars per mbit. but 4.5 USD...it is not possible...

rowan 09-08-2005 03:12 AM

I still remember H.E. quoting me something like $400 for 1Mbit/sec (that's ONE) only a couple of years ago. :1orglaugh

HE now concentrates on wholesale customers. They don't want to bother with people that buy a few megs of bandwidth so they mark prices up bigtime. Bandwidth is cheap but skilled techs are not.....

Herb Kornfield 09-08-2005 06:01 AM

Adult hosts are MUCH more familiar with the inner workings of tweaking scripts, being avaiable 24-7 via multiple contact methods and overall word of the adult webmaster.

I would rather pay the extra cash to a host that understands my adult business and can keep thing alive 24-7 than save a few bucks on what is really only a pipe to the net.... Nothing more, nothing less....

Cazually is right one here, at those prices the bandwith has to be oversubscribed to death, but you get what you pay for. High end bandwith costs $$$ and you get what you pay for. HE bandwith has its place and i wish they were in my datacenter so i could offer that cheap bandwith to some of our customers too.

HE you guys ever going to install a POP in Equinix Secaucus NJ?
