For editing I use a IMac G5 with Final Cut Pro HD.

get a boxx with the new intel dual core extreme edition chip, make sure it is the extreme edition, that means it's dualcore with HT, aslo choose araid 0 hard drive configuration

bhutocracy 08-25-2005 05:22 PM

dual opteron 3.4ghz +
2gb ram
500gb SATA/SCSI RAID
Dual 19" LCD
PCIe Quadro 128+

I love upgrade time.. everything you wished you could have but wasn't even available last time seems so fucking cheap heheh I've got 500gb HD and 2gb DDR ram 19" lcd etc.. Next time a 2tb drive will probably be $200.

abadfish 08-25-2005 05:26 PM

Why not just buy the most expensive one?

single dual core amd + 2 gigs ram and a few 10k rmp hd's in a raid array should be doable in that price range.

Logan Videos 08-25-2005 05:43 PM

To do video, I recommend a lot of ram(1-2 gigs), at least 2 HD of 120 gigs each, in raid, and a p4 3.0gz.

Of course, get yourself an ATI radeon 9800XT all in wonder, or better :thumbsup

:thumbsup

Logan Videos 08-25-2005 05:44 PM

Im in the gaming industry and thats what I use to work ;)

The video industry is similar in a lot of areas :pimp

Loch 08-25-2005 05:58 PM
