IMO it sucks balls. They'll need to come a long way to compete with AIM, ICQ & Y!MSNGR. If you haven't tested it out yet I recommend you refrain from doing so.

It's just extremely bland & useless in 2005. It doesn't compare to it's competitors.

MSN needs to allow you to rename people and send offline messages and it will be perfect.

Thats actualy good, take a look at MSN Messenger 7.0, that fucking thing is bloated with useless kiddie shit :disgust

Simplicity is great, I'm not disagreeing with that. But they need Logging/Profile/WebCam/Direct Connect support.

They don't offer a logging and profile functions? lol what a joke

And some people think Google can comeup with a mass-usable OS alternative to Windows....ahhhh shit

Of course they will, I just don't predict it happening anytime soon.

I'm sure google will feel terrible to hear all these disappointments.

I like it. It's very clean, neat and so fucking fast and stable. But yes, it's still in beta version and the layout is pretty simple ;)

It's getting more an more subscriber each day but I haven't tried it yet.

Problem is now I need skype and google open.... they need to make a mutli viop messenger now..

If you like simplicity it is great.

If you like 1 million smilies, pop up news and lil banners everywhere and all the other crap bundled with other messengers then it isn't for you.

Shortcomings for me:

- You can't have windows on top
- You can't use a webcam
- You can't exchange any files

Plus sides:

- Voice conversations are crispy clear
- It's fast and small
- It has no ads or annoying bullshit like smileys, winks or buzzes

I just added it into my trillian.
It keeps disconnecting me from time to time.

google seems to like simple, except adwords, now that site is fucked up.

no webcam function
cant keep it on top
no smiley gifs :)
no exchange of files
voip problems with skype

in short i'll stick with msn/icq/irc/skype :)
