Is ePassporte safe enough to store some real money?

Did anyone ever had their ePassporte closed? Is there a paypal-like warning page somewhere? Any experiences with some real money in ePassporte accounts? Thnx.

They close your account when you reach $5k then you need to mail your ID. Never had any problems with them before btw. They rock :)

Hmm if they need ID at $5,000 then I guess they are not really used to anything.

balance of $5k, that's why I always try to stay below it and don't get the biggest sponsor payouts there

Curaçao.

JamesK2 08-25-2005 03:12 PM

I wouldn't trust too much money with them.

FuqALot 08-25-2005 03:16 PM

Anyone know and tried any other paypal clones?

You got your ePassporte closed?
I only need one person that had his account closed for a stupid reason to decide if I'm going to use them.

JayJay 08-25-2005 03:39 PM

What do you need to send them when you hit 5k?

synapse 08-25-2005 03:43 PM

We have both personal and biz accounts with them, and yes you need to send them photo ID, but we've had *a lot* more then 10k in there at a time and they've always been great with support ... personally I feel 100% comfortable with them :thumbsup

(i) a photocopy of a government-issued ID with your picture on it and

(ii) photocopies of the front and back of the credit card or debit card which was
last used to add funds to your ePassporte account. [Important Note: If you have
not loaded your account with a debit or credit card before, a copy of the front/back
of any debit or credit card would suffice, as long as the name matches that on your
ePassporte account. Alternatively, a copy of a utility bill (Ex. electricity, gas,
or phone bill) would suffice, as long as the name and address matches that on your
ePassporte account.].

The verification process for exceeding 5k is painless. Epassporte is one service I like and I am very comfortable with.

i thought the it was for doing transactions over 5k,not for an account balance over... it may be different with business and personal accounts, i have business.
epassporte is affiliated with paycom

Chris Mallick 08-26-2005 07:15 AM

To clear this up: When you have loaded a personal account with an aggregate of US$5,000 you are required to send in additional personal ID and data. This is a compliance issue for anti money laundering laws. Your account is NOT closed if you fail to provide the data; it is suspended until we receive the data. We have only had a few cardholders not provide the data. If this is your choice then we will cash your account out by sending you your funds and the close the account.

Busiess accountsholders do not have this issue as we require more ID and personal data when the account agreement is signed. Tens of thousands of Webmasters are paid their Affiliate and other payments vis ePassporte; it is safe and secure.

The banking is in Curacao, a Dutch Territory iff the coast of Venezuala. The banking is done with the oldest bank in Europe and it is also very secure.

I hope this clears this issue for all of you. If not, email me.

Best,

C

Epassporte kicks ass...

Bigfuck 08-26-2005 08:03 AM

Love Epassporte makes life so much more ease:)

FuqALot 08-26-2005 08:45 AM

In older threads I read that it was hard to keep a low amount of money in the account because ePassporte wouldn't just let you withdraw large amounts to your bank account. But that was an old thread. Still I wonder is it true? Or is it easy to transfer your whole passporte balance to your bank account? Thnx.

simple simon 08-26-2005 08:50 AM

I wouldnt tie up any money in ANY online system, you have to be silly if you do.

Nicky 08-26-2005 08:57 AM

I keep a max of a couple of K there.....I withdraw money faster than I get it so no worries for me :1orglaugh

Wow... that's quite a bit of money to have just lying in there :2 cents: :2 cents:

aleck 08-26-2005 09:34 AM

they are class A+.

adultguus 08-26-2005 11:12 AM

The ePass crew really is the best. I recently had to do a chargeback with them for over $4k and that was for a transaction of over 3 months ago. They were very helpfull to get me the money back and they did.

I feel perfectly save keeping large amounts of money there, although I would like to see an option to wire the money to my european bank account. I hope that one will come in the future, Chris?

We just signed agreements yesterday to get that going. it may take around 90 - 120 days to become effective, but it is on the way.

Thanks to all of you for your support. Pelase always email me if you have any ideas of new products or services. We want this to work for YOU!

For me that is the main thing missing at the moment. The rest I like very very much.

You say it's much easier now but a few post after this one you said that wiring to europe isn't available yet. How do people from europe get their money then? Do they have to use the atm everytime?

Vitasoy 08-26-2005 02:35 PM

Had a few K in there, never thought twice.. Epass rocks. :)

yup, or you can just use the card as a regular visa when you purchase something.
