If you agreed to trade someone roughly $1000 in products or services in exchange for them to help promote your company and they haven't followed through?

I gave someone on this board quite a bit of shit (roughly $1000 worth) in trade for them to promote my company at shows and on various boards. A fair trade in my opinion. However, I have yet to have one single referral from this person. I've yet to have one single person even call or email me and it has been more than 8 months. This person is quite "popular" and shouldn't have a problem referring at least one person.

On top of that, when a drama thread was started regarding my company they did not even post in that thread and it made it several pages and over 1000 views. They started several other threads during the same time but failed to even make one single comment in the thread regarding my company.

The $1000 is not a big deal, I just feel like this person used their popularity to get free shit and after they received it just forgot about the deal. :mad:

yeah, i would man...seems pretty petty to do something like what he/she did...and in all honesty, it isn't hard to promote someone else while doing other things...so there really is no excuse for grabbing your work then not reciprocating with promotion

A handshake goes a long way bu ICQ logs go farther. Sometimes things just don't work out and it's not a matter of fault but a resolution must be met. Barters are tricky, just because it's not cash money doesn't allow someone to rip you off or take advantage of a deal.

It happens. I've ran into similar situations. Write it off as a loss and never do business with that person again, also use it as a learning experience.
