Broke "Old Timers"

Are there a lot of people that have been in this industry since the beggining and are still broke?

I've been in it since very early on, but I started at the absolute bottom, doing data entry and graphic design. I think I make an ok amount of $$$ for my age. :winkwink:

I got in pretty early, and there's been highlights and lowlights, but that's to be expected in any industry.

What do you consider broke?

I'm in the same boat as you. No player by any means, but am doing pretty good for my age. Dave have you ever thought about investing in property or rental property? Right now I'm stuck between going the rental route and investing more into my web business... both have pros and cons, it's quite the difficult decision.

I consider living check to check broke with no savings.
I finally have a few k saved up, but still have some debt.

I'm very interested in investing in real estate and last year I thought about getting my real estate license but ended up being to busy.

I figure with the good % of growth that this industry, and our company has I'll see some good $$$ soon enough. :)

Started our Broke, and remained that way for a long time! I'm very satisfied with the way my program has taken off though.

Not to bad for just Turning 23 =)

That's true. Now it seems like profit margins are tighter and the industry is more competitive then it's ever been.

Started early, was doing fantastic and then partnered up with someone who cost me several years worth of savings in one instant.
I have gotten finacially hammered a few times ussually due to unforseen medical bills and the inability to gain health insurance.
I am doing fairly well, not living paycheck to paycheck. I do own my house outright now and have a few rentals.

I have money in the bank.

You ca n choose to get out when you think there is no money on this industry though. When? It's always on you to figure that out.

That's one funny side of being a pretender.

They're almost as bad as the losers that "threaten" to kick someone's ass and never follow through. Eh?

Doctor Dre 08-25-2005 08:58 PM

I'm no player ... I got my house ... my stuff ... i run my business ... I'm doing aiight ...

I used to spend way too much money on useless things ... If I would have stacked, I'd be doing a lot more then OK ... lived a big lifestyle ... right now I calmed down and hopefully the big big bucks will come in the future ;)

everything has its ups and downs.. some people just have longer lucky streaks.
save as much as you can for a rainy day when you do make a few extra bucks.
work hard and it will happen eventually.
