More Webmasters Get the FEDS Up Their Asses..
http://blogs.washingtonpost.com/secu...e_dept_na.html
How dumb can you be? Repatriating money from offshore accounts while living in this country is ILLEGAL Sending Non Can Spam Compliant emails- is Illegal. Somehow most people in this business seem to think they are too smart for the government or anyone else- Greed may have been good for Gordon Gecko- but it's killing spammers one by one. |
stupid is, as stupid does
|

It's unfortunate that this has happened, but easy with the name calling and shit. Most people would have jumped to get at those people! And not a single one of you is innocent by any means and most have done shaddy shit!
OH and whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"...yeah...land of the free...whatever! |

I haven't brokered a list in over two years- but he is right, hen I had access and worked as a third party, all but one list I was involved with were gold... That was pre Can Spam and when the Gold Rush was still booming. |

I agree, fickle bunch indeed. Start a thread and say........... I can send 100 joins a day, need reliable sponsor who accepts mail traffic. leave your icq and watch the damn thing blow up. And they wont give a FUCK if it's not compliant. How many times has that thread title been posted and NEVER is the question where is the traffic coming from been asked??? It's a joke! I don't like spam, hell I'm against opt in mail because it's so very rarley opt in, or the surfer who opted in will complain because he wanted free access to CEMags not mail in his inbox . But some will never learn............... |

He is right, It could all just be an elaborate misunderstanding. Because NOBODY is dumb enough to spam AOL. I wonder if the feds went to the sponsors with ref codes to find the " alleged" spammers?? |

When you are the target of a Federal Investigation, and then indicted, if you are victorious in the court proceedings you are reimbursed legal fees and expenses. Federal Level on criminal prosecutions is 100% loser pays, the way it should be. It is capped at $7mil and determined by the judge, but you usually come out ahead. It is part of the Hyde Amendment, check it out. Player, you should know this. As an aside, I would rather go up against the Federal Government than any Local or State government. There are rules on the Federal Level, States take it to street level antics. |
the last line says it all and thats what the feds were really going after -
" The indictments also are expected to charge the defendants with money laundering." |
poor Jenn :/

Granted, he ended up serving 4.5 years in Club Fed, but he also banked around $54mil for that one scam alone (money which the feds haven't been about to touch, even though they've tried :winkwink: ). |
People are pretty crazy to be spamming porn right now :Oh crap
|
Some people like walking on fire. Crazy risktaking is a thrill to those kinds.
|
They aren't going to jail or anything. All the goverment wants is money. I settled for $50k last year when ms came after me and i was mailing 50 mil hotmail/msn addys a day with porn and penis pills

Then again, if you're an employee and you're NOT innocent, then you're going to pay some legal bills. And rightly so. |
Quote:
Nice guy and that very rarely happens. bottom line when the feds are investigating/indicting/charge you with something its not a great feeling nor one to go through. |
