Tanker 08-25-2005 09:02 AM

I sold my playstation to buy an Xbox I dont regret it one bit!

I enjoy playing games online and with Xbox live it just made sense

as for playstation I love that one too but I never got that into it like I have with the Xbox

Gamecube is for the younger crowd for sure all the games are targeted to a younger market

I would go for the Xbox. I have one and have used it as a backup dvd player (w/playback kit) and if shes old enuff (oir later) theres always Xbox live already integrated, unlike with the PS2.

LittleSassy 08-25-2005 09:03 AM

id say its still PS2

ace0r 08-25-2005 09:05 AM

i have them all, play ps2 the most, havent touched the cube in about a year, xbox every now and then, but ps2 nearly every day

bjjb 08-25-2005 09:05 AM

Dont forget that with the Xbox there are dozens and dozens of games for the younger crowd that can be had for $20 or less (platinum hits). Ny nieces and nephews love theirs. And buying a new game for Xmas or a bday wont cost ya an arm or a leg

dynastoned 08-25-2005 09:06 AM

ps2 i like it more simply because of the controlers. god damn xbox controlers suck ass. maybe im just old skool and don't like to learn 20 different buttons for each game.

brand0n 08-25-2005 09:08 AM

how old is she

xbox seems to have more adult style games where ps2 has alot of kid style stuff

killerkay 08-25-2005 09:08 AM

i'd go with PS2

bjjb 08-25-2005 09:08 AM

By the way I got my Xbox from XXX Cash

<blatant sponsor plug> :thumbsup

Xbox is cool but they over engineered and try too hard to innovate. PS2 represents a culmination of nearly 30 years of console development. PS3 is going to be great.

Babaganoosh 08-25-2005 09:09 AM

xbox for sure

I also have a gamecube. I bought it just to play Resident Evil 4. That game alone makes it worth the money.

XclusiveVeezz 08-25-2005 09:10 AM

Ps2 Ftw!!!

bjjb 08-25-2005 09:10 AM

Xbox Platinum Hits

Look under family

Get a Xbox...was going to say to wait for the next-gen but since it has to be now Xbox is the solution, you can even mod it and get a media center to watch your movies on the big screen ;)

hehehe

candyflip 08-25-2005 11:24 AM

The XBox is the best all round. There's no question.

It can be whatever you want it to be. Game console, media center, computer...the list goes on.

I love my PS2, but it isn't even in the same league as the XBox. Compare the games that come out for both platforms and you can see for yourself.

Babagirls 08-25-2005 11:32 AM

personally i like ps2; nice graphics, easy to use (for a non-gamer like myself).
for the younger crowd, (like 4-9 yrs old), i'd get the game cube, cheap games.
but the xbox graphics are killer.

depends on what you wants/needs are for your niece. :)

Ramos 08-25-2005 11:32 AM

Xbox...............

She is 14 today,( going to Highschool in the fall) I would like something that will be good for a few years, its not obsolete soon as its out of the box :winkwink:

Fresh 08-25-2005 11:53 AM

PS2, hands down

PussyTeenies 08-25-2005 11:58 AM

i've got them all
(got all of them double, besides the gamecube)

have to say for small kids and sportsfanatics get a PS2
for just kidgames or games that you will finish in a day get a gamecube
For more "complex" games and shooters and more adult (17+) games get an Xbox

for gameing on school get a Gameboy advance etc or a PSP

just my thought from a gamer since his age of 3.

i allready pre-orderd a Xbox360, Nintendo revolution and a PS3 :)
just to complete the collection. (have all consoles and allmost all handhelds)

Scott McD 08-25-2005 11:59 AM

I have a Gamecube and it's shit.

Well, apart from Resident Evil 4, but i doubt she'd like that... :winkwink:

Any of the systems that you buy today will be obsolete come November when the new XBox360 is released. Microsoft has said the will continue supporting the XBox for at least a year after the 360 release.

That said, all the consoles have a large number of games lined up for release over the next year. You can't really go wrong with any of them. It's the end of this "generation" so they've all got a fairly sizeable library of games to choose from.

I'd still go with the XBox. :thumbsup

Get a modded xbox . You can upload all games you want on your HD ... if you get a big HD, you can have 50 games at all time on your machine without paying anything else then a 1 day rentall fee per game.

You can do all this without a modchip now. It only takes me 10 minutes to completely mod an XBox and install all the emulators and applications.

I've got one disc that has every game from every console Atari - Super Nintendo.

I run XBox Media Center and have three of them running throughout my house.

Even when the XBox360 bumps my main XBox out of it's spot, it'll still get lots of use.

Before I have an xBOx, but right now it's PSP. I am not sure with Xbox 360 but I think PSP is better.

PixeLs 08-25-2005 10:33 PM
