last year took me out bigtime...had a good business going and had to close up shop
because of it...all i can say is if you live in florida...your business plan better have a section in it called...mother nature. |
Can't handle a bit of wind and rain and a free day off of work?
I'd hate to imagine what a blizzard or being snowed in must feel like. I'll take a tropical storm anyday. |
EXCELLENT! I only wish that more people down here felt like you do!
(No offense, but I would love to see people stop moving here.... please tell all your buds in NY that Florida sucks and that they should stay up there... THANKS! :-) ) |

oh, snow really isn't that bad don't worry.... |

It's not as bad here on the Gulf coast but we're supposed to get a lot of rain. Rain I don't mind, but these Hurricanes always seem to come in on the weekends and ruin good beach weather.
|
snow or hurricanes you pick
|
Come on now, Katrina is just a mild Tropical Storm right now and may possibly develop into a Cat 1. That ain't shit. Just a good excuse to work from home tomorrow.
Hey Katrina.... :321GFY |
I know what you mean Mikey...we live ocean front in Cancun. I grew up in Arizona, so when hurricane Emily was headed straight for us, I was ready to leave here, especially after seeing all the damage Florida goes thru every year. Luckily she made landfall about 45 miles from us and we didn't suffer any real damage.
I watch the weather like I was a newbie checking stats :1orglaugh |
Damn, dude what a baby. I wish the rest of florida was like this so I could buy more swamp land property
|
I have lived here for over 25 years and I would rather deal with a possible Hurricane once in a while then deal with snow every winter.
My complaint is insurance, homeowners policies have increase 20 and 30 percent, and more. I pay nearly 4500/year between home and flood and I have never made any claims...ever. Screw it, this time I am opening every window in the house... :1orglaugh |
Hurricanes over snow any day. Insurance in Fl is ridiculous. However, no state income tax absolutely rocks. Even though all of my insurances have doubled I'm still further ahead than I'd be in other states.
|
As soon as my mom retires, and moves up with my brother, I'm out of here too.
I've lived here 25+ years. Last year was an anomoly, but in case you haven't noticed, weather all across the planet has been nuts lately. Something huge is happening, and if I was a religious woman I'd be convinced the ean is near, lol. |
fucking summer, rain rain rain wtf?

Exactly what I was thinking. This reasoning is why I will not move back to Colorado from AZ, although CO is such a better place in the summer/fall/spring. |

Yup It's scary to live here.. Get out while you can and tell ALL your friends!! :winkwink: |

as long as your okay with snow, i say go for it. but i do agree, a few inches of snow beats a hurricane anyday lol :)
|
That sucks! how many do you get a year?
|
This shit will be nothing .. I lived here round 8 years and in the Keys through george and Irene . They compare this to Irene. I never lost power in IRENE and was outside tynig down our boat and the fucking wind picked me up and threw me around 5 feet. So a cat 1 can do some shit ... but I live right on the Water ..
But that was near the eye . Looks like this will hit more like Hallendale Beach ... just alot of rain and wind .. They havent cancelled the green day concert for tomorrow yet ! |
