Where in Florida do you live? If you live within 20 miles of the coastline, I would agree. I however live in Orlando, and I know for a fact by the time it reaches here, it would be (at most) a Tropical Storm. Which means lots of rain.

reynold 08-25-2005 05:14 AM

Dennis was a total menace.

phonesex 08-25-2005 05:15 AM

HDADULT 08-25-2005 05:32 AM

last year took me out bigtime...had a good business going and had to close up shop
because of it...all i can say is if you live in florida...your business plan better have a section in it called...mother nature.

Can't handle a bit of wind and rain and a free day off of work?
I'd hate to imagine what a blizzard or being snowed in must feel like.
I'll take a tropical storm anyday.

sperbonzo 08-25-2005 06:56 AM

EXCELLENT! I only wish that more people down here felt like you do!

(No offense, but I would love to see people stop moving here.... please tell all your buds in NY that Florida sucks and that they should stay up there...

THANKS! :-) )

Me too... I have had over 50 years of blizzards & tornadoes. I will live with a tropical storm any day. Now Hurricanes are a different story. Last year was the first year in almost 30 years that our area has been affected at all. I am playing the odds......I am probably 5, 6 miles from the ocean, and the canals take care of the flooding problem. (I don't even have to have flood insurance) I will live with it to have paradise in the winter:-)

EroticySteve 08-25-2005 07:04 AM

It's not as bad here on the Gulf coast but we're supposed to get a lot of rain. Rain I don't mind, but these Hurricanes always seem to come in on the weekends and ruin good beach weather.

killerkay 08-25-2005 07:06 AM

snow or hurricanes you pick

MacDaddyPlaya 08-25-2005 07:08 AM

Come on now, Katrina is just a mild Tropical Storm right now and may possibly develop into a Cat 1. That ain't shit. Just a good excuse to work from home tomorrow.

Hey Katrina.... :321GFY

dirtydesignz 08-25-2005 07:59 AM

I know what you mean Mikey...we live ocean front in Cancun. I grew up in Arizona, so when hurricane Emily was headed straight for us, I was ready to leave here, especially after seeing all the damage Florida goes thru every year. Luckily she made landfall about 45 miles from us and we didn't suffer any real damage.

I watch the weather like I was a newbie checking stats :1orglaugh

KMR Stitch 08-25-2005 08:02 AM

Damn, dude what a baby. I wish the rest of florida was like this so I could buy more swamp land property

Jay 08-25-2005 08:11 AM

I have lived here for over 25 years and I would rather deal with a possible Hurricane once in a while then deal with snow every winter.

My complaint is insurance, homeowners policies have increase 20 and 30 percent, and more. I pay nearly 4500/year between home and flood and I have never made any claims...ever.

Screw it, this time I am opening every window in the house... :1orglaugh

EroticySteve 08-25-2005 08:31 AM

Hurricanes over snow any day. Insurance in Fl is ridiculous. However, no state income tax absolutely rocks. Even though all of my insurances have doubled I'm still further ahead than I'd be in other states.

chase 08-25-2005 09:22 AM

As soon as my mom retires, and moves up with my brother, I'm out of here too.
I've lived here 25+ years. Last year was an anomoly, but in case you haven't noticed, weather all across the planet has been nuts lately. Something huge is happening, and if I was a religious woman I'd be convinced the ean is near, lol.

body 08-25-2005 09:23 AM

fucking summer, rain rain rain wtf?

Exactly what I was thinking. This reasoning is why I will not move back to Colorado from AZ, although CO is such a better place in the summer/fall/spring.

Babagirls 08-25-2005 10:16 AM

as long as your okay with snow, i say go for it. but i do agree, a few inches of snow beats a hurricane anyday lol :)

CherryLipsRosa 08-25-2005 10:23 AM

That sucks! how many do you get a year?

Realwild-Terry 08-25-2005 10:27 AM

This shit will be nothing .. I lived here round 8 years and in the Keys through george and Irene . They compare this to Irene. I never lost power in IRENE and was outside tynig down our boat and the fucking wind picked me up and threw me around 5 feet. So a cat 1 can do some shit ... but I live right on the Water ..
But that was near the eye . Looks like this will hit more like Hallendale Beach ... just alot of rain and wind ..

They havent cancelled the green day concert for tomorrow yet !
