Actaully it isnt bush's fault. Clinton let big oil go un-regulated for years whiule he got his dick sucked. What we need is new refineries.

Yeah we have reserves... Clinton let some go a while back when shit started slippin... Instead of addressing the real problem.

Iraq does have some to do with it... But it is not the only factor. If we never went into Iraq we would still be in the same situation.

hmmwv 08-25-2005 01:48 AM

~ 1.30euro/l -> $6.06/gallon so stop whining bitches!

Mefo 08-25-2005 01:51 AM

I dont think it would be this bad even if we didnt hit Iraq and the afghans.

tristan_D 08-25-2005 01:56 AM

almost $5 here.

Mako 08-25-2005 01:56 AM

Has nothing to do with either the Clinton or Bush adminstrations. Nor does it have to do with the Middle East. Read a nonpartisan book or two on the subject before mindlessly spouting the same old anti-administration rhetoric.

It has everything to do with existing refinery capacity, our addiction to SUVs, the fact that we haven't attempted to regulate oil companies and exert more control on where they spend their massive profits each year, an exponentially growing Chinese middle class who are buying cars at a faster rate currently than Americans ever have, and most of all, commodities speculators who have literally gotten rich off of the oil index rising so quickly, and now seek to hold it in place as long as possible.

Now you're in the know.

Are you an idiot. How would Clinton regulate big oil? Regualtions are madee by CONGRESS not the president. Republican where in charge of congress the last 6 years of Clintons term. Also the government can't MAKE oil companies build more refineries. Why would they anyways. They cost BILLIONS to build then if you have more refineries you can refine more oil which means lower prices for their products.

And whoever brought up Alaska is an idiot too. That place in Alasaka Bush wants so bad has a total of ONE month's supply of oil for the US. And that's if it could all be taken out at once. It won't it will take about 12-20 years if they ever start pumping it out. Gas wouldn't drop a dime. Making SUV's get just 3 MPG more would save more oil than could ever be taken out of Alaska, the coast of California and Florida COMBINED.

phonesex 08-25-2005 02:06 AM

90 % of your price is from taxes, so stfu. Maybe get your gov to quit fucking with your shit first, then come talk to us. Lets see, Norway is the size of New York state, and we have 50 of them to travel in. :321GFY

I just saw on CNN that Hawaii has put a cap on prices that gas companies can charge. Maybe it will take hold and every state will do this. Fuck the current administrations policies. Lets take our damn country back from big oil interests.

Basic_man 08-25-2005 05:06 AM

Regular is 1,10$ / litter.. don't know if it's lower than you in the states.. :warning

citizen tower 08-25-2005 05:08 AM

Iraq has nothing to do with the oil situation, and the fact is, we import more oil from South America than the Middle East anyway (24% compared to 21%).

Jensen 08-25-2005 05:08 AM

spanky: read the thread.. can you see any other country that has the us price level?

demented 08-25-2005 05:10 AM

$2.79 here in FL.

Dirty Dane 08-25-2005 05:12 AM

About $8 per gallon here in DK!!

But it's ok. People should pay for polluting, and if prices are the only way to reduce it, then its the way to go.

Herb Kornfield 08-25-2005 05:15 AM

$2.90 here in Philly... Ive been driving my Jeep ALOT more than my Durango

Tam 08-25-2005 05:15 AM

It's like $2.58 a gallon here now, but if we use our Kroger Card and get it there, we can pick up a gallon for a mere $2.36. 12 cents is 12 cents..... LOL

dready 08-25-2005 05:32 AM

Why don't we just make a sticky gas price thread so we don't have to read a new one every single day?

Trader Fr 08-25-2005 05:51 AM

of course the war has something to do ....
and bush too ! don't you understand guys ??? all his money is in petrol ...
higher the price higher the profit !!!

hydro 08-25-2005 06:03 AM

mortenb 08-25-2005 06:04 AM

A bit over 6.7$ for a gallon..

Peaches 08-25-2005 06:13 AM

Between 2.70-3.00 in S.Florida

Fred Quimby 08-25-2005 06:18 AM
