Online college courses

Any of you take them? I'm looking some up now and signed up for some info on a few, but looking to see if anyone on here has taken any or have any recommendations.

Looking for business management - ebiz type of classes.

Thanks for any help.

i took up oracle online but gave up after a few month...

Babagirls 08-24-2005 12:18 PM

i know someone in north carolina that teaches them. i guess alot of her "students" get lazy after a month so just stay with it (whatever course(s) you decide to take).

I'm getting ready to. I can take most of the courses I need online but some of them I know I'm going to personally need to have a teacher in front of me explaining things :( English, basic biz skills and stuff I'm taking online.

How could someone pay about $1k/semester and give up on it???

Im waiting to hear from a few places now. Devry, strayer, university of phoenix, and a few others.

I took a bunch from Syracuse. If you are good at time management, you will love it.

Some of those programs are completely worthless both from an educational standpoint and a career asset standpoint. I was in the staffing business for long enough to see CEOs, HR manager and other people who do hiring laugh at online university degrees.

I've been taking online classes from the University here locally for 2 semesters, so many of the classes are available online now it's more convenient than going to campus. The only thing is that it's a little harder for some people because they don't have hands on instruction (some people learn better that way) and you have to be very disciplined about the class work and interaction. You would be suprised as to how many people fall behind in an online setting.

Good luck to you, it's worked out well for me so far.

That has crossed my mind, but things change with time, and I know quite a few people taking online classes now.

I only took one while I was in school. Easy ass class for me. It was actually for a masters degree in information tech but I could use it has a general at my school. Worked out good and was easy as fuck.

I think you need lots of discipline to do that ,most dont have it lol

Online education sounds fun and exciting but i don't think nothing could replace the old blackboards and chalks inside a classroom.

I have a friend in the philippines that take online course offered in Canada. If that's what you mean

abadfish 08-24-2005 10:40 PM

I've never been able to complete an online course... I couldn't even finish defensive driving online and now I have to pay the remaining ticket because of that. :)
