tats when you get old

People with tats do you think you will ever regret them when you get older and they are not looking as fresh?

Got my first one when I was 17 and I am now 45 and have no regrets.
I am going to get a few more, fill in the chest and back.

good excuse, don't want to mess the tat with some big biceps

Monique Niccole 08-23-2005 06:29 PM

I have one on my shoulder blade and I chose to put it there so I wouldn't have to stare at it every day and its not a place that will sag as I get older (as opposed to a boob or an ass cheek).

Pete-KT 08-23-2005 06:36 PM

Had one of mine for 6 years and dont regret it

Wiggles 08-23-2005 06:56 PM

I do regret one of mine.. The rest are all okay. I have around 8 of them and may get the one I don't like worked on soon.

MikeVega 08-23-2005 07:06 PM

a lot of the new tattoo inks that they use today are much better then the old inks .. they don't blur as much as the old blue ones you see on guys from the 60's and 70's ... as far as regretting them .. i don't think i will .. there a time line of my life .. each one reminds me of a time and place .. I have about 8 and I'm working on a sleeve on my right arm right now and then I'll do my left. It's a commitment and once you settle on it ..you have to live with it ... no regrets ... :2 cents:

tattoos looks ugly when you get old because the skin really must be stretched well to see the tattoo. that's why i won't waste my money and my skin.

I have got one and planning to get one soon....

You wont regret it if its meaningful.
I have 2 & I'll probably get more.

On my upper back/lower neck I have a tribal scorpio zodiac (obviously Im a scorpio) & Ive always thought & people tell me all the time how obvious it is that Im one.

Then when I was 17 I got a baby with a football helmet, carrying a ball & with the number 28. 28 was my number as long as I played ball & it is my birthday. Football is important to me, I played for years & now I coach & well yeah I can be a big baby so it all ties in.

I dont see the point sometimes of just random tats, they might be cool now, but later on who knows. But as long as they are meaningful to the person I dont see them regreting it.

Only rule #1 NEVER get a partners name done.
I'll probably get my kids names done one day when I have.. but never the spouse etc.. too much risk there :winkwink:

Fletch XXX 08-24-2005 08:57 AM

more ink every year.

Fletch XXX 08-24-2005 08:57 AM

Hah...I just got a picture of my wife from our wedding day on my forearm. I had two tattoos previously that I've had for a few years. Inevitably someone would always say "At least you don't have a girlfriend's name anywhere" or something like that.

I look at it as something that is always going to mean something. I don't see us ever splitting up in the future, but even if we did, she's my wife and I'm never going to forget that.
