Unreliable hosting companies piss me off

So there i was, upgrading my hosting plan ... and the jackoff at the hosting company screwed up. Instead of upgrading, he proceeded to recreate(?) my account, and forward ALL of my domains to a single IP address, where they all immediately went down. 4 1/2 hours later, they are still fixing the DNS on it. My two biggest sites are down, isn't that great? *sigh*

Spill it.. Which host?

mrkris 08-23-2005 05:11 PM

i know the owner so I can't say anything right now, but i am getting some decent credits for it ... heh

baddog 08-23-2005 05:14 PM

shit happens

Robx 08-23-2005 05:17 PM

That sucks. Discount or not, that would be enough to make me move. Espeically on a shared account.

Pornwolf 08-23-2005 05:19 PM

Unreliable hosts make me mad too. Fortunately, I haven't been mad in 2 years.

chaze 08-23-2005 05:34 PM

I would ask for a at least two months credit. Deleting several account is about as bad as a mistake as you a hosting company can make.

I mean problems happen, so to make more like this just sucks. :Oh crap

But 4 1/2 hours isn't bad for such a major screw up.

mrkris 08-23-2005 05:41 PM

5 1/2 hours now :)

If you want I can try to trouble shoot the problem, just post a domain that's down I will run some tests. Then you can tell them, unless it's just time that they need.

demand some free hosting due to the icome that they costs you. that would be unaccepatable to me.

most of the time the TOS basically says tough shit. I had a mainstream biz that was making ~3K a month and got hacked. Host said "You're SOL"

The dns is now fixed.

Now I guess they are working on the server.

Should be back very soon in my oppinion. DNS is usually the hard part.

Yeah - really, there are a lot of great hosting companies out there.

If I was you, while waiting for them to fix the problem, I would likely transfer all of my data to a new company.

You must really like the owner to stick around for this long.

i could name 1 but i wont, yet again, he threaten to kick my ass at internext, because i called the host mediaocre. after he wanted to hire me, and i told him to fuck off.
