Is anyone using colo FM? it's only 0.30 per GB
 

Hi,

Is anyone using them? it's only 0.30 per GB on virtual and 0.50 for dedicated. No servers fee.(ony for 500GB and more)

I know it's cogentco BW. Anyone using it?

yesterday when i clicked the link from awi it too a year to load,now it loads fast. Their prices look too low, if you're gonna use them ask them to tell you some high traffic sites they host.

What's the deal with this being the code that loads up 1st before redirecting...

That doesn't look to professional.

colo.fm is efreeservers.com, just a different name. And no, they are not hosting.fm They are however located in the same building that Hosting.FM was in. Its the exchange colocation facility in SF.

FYI, Hosting FM was not what it was made out to be in that article.

OK, here is what happened. SPAM was sent out over the weekend and it caused a lot of problems for our upstream. They got pissed and shut us off. I was in Florida when I got the phone call that we where being shut off. It was definately the worst day of my life.

The day we got shut off, I did not know what to do. I answered the phone and told customers what had happened and gacve them 2 options. One was to wait and see what happens and the 2nd was to move their servers. Only 2 customers decided to move imediately and the rest waited till Monday.

I got back in town and got a temporary connection for our business which helped us hold on to most of our customers. We lost 4 customers in total, however all but 1 of those would have stayed if we worked out the problem. I truly think the customers did not want to leave.

So over the next day, we fixed all our problems and where back in business. The main outage was almost 2 days. We did however stay in contact witrh our customers.

All though this may not make the story as interesting as you want it to be, there was no FBI, no police and nothing to exciting that happened. We basically had a major problem and dealt with it. As fopr the FBI, they showed up in the same facility around that Tuesday and confiscated all of computer rages equipment. That is where there was some confusion. They where not doing anything with us. A company xxxhostit.com was with Computer Rage when this all happened and the lost all their servers and data. We helped them get back up.

Finally, the name change was a business decision, not an attempt to hide from anything. We have not done anything wrong and all of our customers are very happy.

And yes, the servers are free if you buy 1000 GB or more at $.50/Gig. Dual 1 GHz PIII, Dual 60 GB IBM Hard Disks, and 1 GB RAM.

We setup webmasters and business owners with reliable service and cut their costs in half most of the time. Satisfaction Guaranteed!

BTW: Ray got paid his $700 today and his GBIC goes in the mail on Monday.

whatever you guys say but i found a provider that charges only 900$ for 100mbps unlimited traffic connection.....they host about 7 big sites with 600000-800000 ppl/day each........and they are still fast....but im not gonna tell who they are :321GFY

I know somebody that will sell a 100mbps connection for 5c on his DSL connection, but I won't tell you who it is!!

SR, for 10 MBps flat and 1 server:

$800 for 10 MBps
$200 for the server

$1000/Mo

You'll also get a control panel for your server where you can remotely reboot it, check bandwidth, and monitor your hardware performance.

And in response to "DualCPU," we probably do some of the things you probably don't.

#1 We manufacture our own server cases and purchase parts directly from IBM, Intel, Tyan, Samsung, and a few other companies. I can build a Dual CPU, Dual 60GB Disks, 1GB RAM, plus a 300 Watt powersupply for under $1000. This means we are saving money and passing it on to our customers.

#2 We provide our customers with up to date information on their servers from a web browser. We also have a remote reboot feature. Our customers probably call our 24/7 phone, email, and ICQ support lines a lot less then they would call yours.

#3 Bandwidth is inexpensive for us because we buy a lot. I could cut my prices in half and still make money. Do you think it is right that a lot of hosting companies sell bandwidth for 50 times what they pay for it?

So basically, the prices are good for good reasons and we can honor these prices to anyone. I could probably save you quite a bit of money.

And Dual CPU, the fact that I have a good life serves as a symbol of the work I did to get there. I know if you have a mercedes and a chauffeur, you obviously are doing something right.

Most of the shit on that post Maruiz keeps showing to people is BS. The only thing I am guilty of is having a customer who spammed and caused me to get shut down for a couple days. Did you find anything else I am missing? I dont think that makes me a terrible person or a bad business man.
