Seven More Cigarettes Until I Quit Smoking

I'm closing up some financial leaks and this one has got to go! I currently smoke about 10-15 cigs a day and not only is it a financial leak but a time leak as well. 10-15 cigs x say 5 min each = up to 75 extra minutes per day. 37.5 hours per month. That's almost a full time work week. I could sure think of more productive things to do with that time. I've been in this sick, disgusting trap for way to long. I'm irriitated to hell by this nasty habit and I'm ready to kick it!

Well, here goes nothin'... :pimp

good luck... it's worth it. I smoked for 15 years and just quit on June 23rd. No more morning lung butter... it went away fast.

If you have to finish them, you won't make it. Good luck tho!

how do you feel about quitting?

WarChild 08-23-2005 03:12 AM

I quit about 6 months ago myself. I smoked closer to 40 a day though. It finally dawned on me that in fact I don't really like smoking, despite what I might tell myself. Once I realized that I only smoked because I couldn't stop, it just made me angry. I quit the next morning.

If you quit when you go to bed, you'll wake up with 8 hours already under your belt! Keep at it. You'll feel better if you can tough it out.

Quit cold turkey, or you are just kidding yourself.

I gave up for two weeks a few months back and it was as if I never smoked, felt much better about everything, gonna give it another go now.

A typical smoker will start realizing benefits as quickly as 20 minutes after their last cigarette. I heard somewhere that after 15 years of not smoking you reduce your risks of smoking related lung cancers and what not by roughly 95%. You will always have a greater risk than someone who has never been a smoker, statistically speaking.
