Who's the best president on film?

I nominate these two fictional presidents:

1. Bill Pullman in Independence Day - Whats greater than a president that has nuts and join the frontline? And against Aliens? His 4th July speech is the best ever! :thumbsup

2. Alan Alda in Canadian Bacon - "I want to say to Prime Minister MacDonald: Surrender her pronto, or we'll level Toronto." Just saw this movie again few days ago and forgot how funny it is :1orglaugh At the same time its almost scary on-topic 10 years later...

Morgan Freeman in Deep Impact

Andrew Shepard (Michael Douglas) in "the American President." Any prez who gets to bone Annette Benning is okay by me. A close second is Kevin Kline in Dave.

bill pullman... LMAO hell no!

I say kevin kline from DAVE and then Andrew Shepard

Yes, Kevin Kline is a better actor, but I think the movie Dave sucked the last part. Not really a president movie, rather average comedy/romantic movie... The president in I.D. was too overheroed and putting Pullman into such sarcastic role was genious, because he does not fit at all as a convincing president. Sarcasm at its best :winkwink:

Morgan Freeman in deep impact.. hhehe he added the word "FICTION" to Science Fiction on that movie

tristan_D 08-22-2005 04:30 PM

I would have to say Michael Douglas.

Since we are going for that era, how about Henry Fonda in Fail Safe? It was basically a serious version of the same film, only without a total apocalypse.
