why do people say this, i hear this comment almost daily and i just realized last night that i fucking hate it

why and who would start it!!!!!

I suppose it's not really your choice if it's gonna be safe or not...

I feel the same way about "drive safe"

My parents say it all the time when I go on trips or leave their house and I always tell them "I'll do my best"

I mean, if they wouldn't have said it would I have done the opposite? I hear the safe flight one all the time too. I never say either to people but I guess I understand their intentions... It's maybe a better way of saying "good luck!" lol

they should say

"have a good flight" or "have an easy flight"

i hear have a clean fight but not "safe"

it's just a pet peev of mine i guess, since nobody has a say on if the flight will be safe or not

it SHOULD be a given that everyone intentionally TRIES to have a safe trip no matter flying or driving or boating and no matter where anyone goes

It's best wishes man. Basically saying I hope everything goes well on your trip. It's better than them saying - I hope you guys crash and buuurrrnnn! I guess you dont like it when people say Bless you after you sneeze either huh? Maybe everyone should just start calling you jackass? Hey Jackasssss (waving). I hope your plane crashes!

It doesn't really bother me, and I *hate* to fly, I try to take as the 'polite' thing to say...

They say have a pleasant flight here. Not that it ever is.
