Soccer in Amsterdam part 2
 

OK, a few months ago I started a thread about playing a game of soccer in Amsterdam, during the convention. There were a lot of positive replies, but I thought it was too hard to book an indoor facility for an hour or 2, get enough webmasters together that REALLY want to play (and are not too hungover etc.).. Also, transportation was gonna be an issue (remind you, I'm not from Amsterdam myself, so that makes it even harder)

poppy just hit me up on ICQ, and told me that we should really do it. I know there's a few people who I'm sure of will play, no matter how their physical conditions are at that point.

I think it's the best idea to just take it outside to a park (Vondelpark might be a good place), and just keep our fingers crossed the weather will be nice. Sunday (after the seminars/show) would be the best day to do this.. All we need is a ball (I'll take one) and something to use for goals. We'll just get a few cabs who'll drop us off at the Vondelpark.

So... my question again: Who thinks it's fun to play on Sunday, and will be there FOR SURE? Don't forget to bring soccer boots/sport shoes, and the right clothes. Cab fees will be taken care of by me.

This is not official, but as long as it doesn't conflict with some kind of party/dinner, this WILL happen :)

Oh btw.. Just saw there's no more show on sunday... so we can do it a bit earlier too I guess, instead of late in the afternoon.

Maybe even on Saturday (after the seminars, before the interclimax party) if a lot of people leave on Sunday

they are free, but they are mostly stone. But if we do it there then we don't need to bring goals are anything.

I prefer grass too, there are two grass soccer fields that we can play on but they are about 20 minutes from the centre.......

The Vondelpark is cool with me, it's a 5 min walk so that's ok

I've been wishing then to play professional soccer when I grow up. Unfortunately, after being hit on my belly by a soccer ball and nearly lost my breath I was convinced that the game was not really for me.

problem is, I have a soccer match with my own team on saturday, and it's about an hour drive from amsterdam to my place

It can be done on both saturday and sunday ofcourse..
