Not being a dick but...
with the amount of money being pumped into breast cancer research, shouldnt they have found a cure already....?
i often ask myself the same about HIV
these scientists are probably sailing in their mil£ yachts off the coast at monte carlo
I hope they'll find it soon...there was some talking few weeks ago about some new method
My family is related to the Komens from "The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation" (the pink ribbon people) - and I can tell you that they would love nothing more than to find a cure. Unfortunately, no researcher has found the silver bullet yet.
Here's how the foundation gave out their money last year: Research and awards: $39 million (rounded) Public health education: $44 million Health screening services: $17 million Treatment Services: $8 million Total: $110 million Approximately 75% of the money they raise goes back out the door, the other 25% is salaries, and "supporting services". |
i think a scientist would LOVE to find a cure for anything ... if anyone is skimming its business or politicians. there is so much to be made on life prolonging hiv drugs that there is no way in hell pharmaceutical co's arent greasing palms ...
breast cancer - i dont know ... there is a difference in my opinion. most people still associate hiv with gays and attach a stigma to it ... breast cancer is a possibility for every woman on earth. i guess when they find a cure for cancer pharmaceutical co's will start mailing out antrhax then make pills to help you live long enough to line their pockets |
