We must have had a power spike last night and I lost both my computers.

I have just had to go around and steel my mums laptop - it barely runs windows.

I feel like a limb has been removed.

I just got a new flat and everything is maxed out - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Ah, new power supply will do the trick..they aren't that expensive, hun. I've lost mine twice because I live right next to power lines. Now I have one of those half-million dollar guarantee surge protectors, lol.

Get a new bestbuy charge card, and buy a new desktop for about 500$ get a cheap one. with the mininums. Then remove the hard drive from the old one, and copy the contents, and get started over.

APC units are must on all PC's in cities where you get a lot of lightning, power spikes, and other electrical fuckups.

Well, I hope that your HD's are OK... actually in 99% of situations that is case... CPU's, motherboards (ports especially) are probably dead, but I think that HD's will be ok...

I had similar experience couple years ago, in my case only MB went wrong...

That will definitely ruin my day if that happened to me.
