How many of you are considering volunteering for Iraq?

How can an ordinary citizen travel to Iraq to support democracy in that country?

Mr. Hollywood 08-21-2005 03:24 PM

Why?

Mr Pheer 08-21-2005 03:24 PM

I might have joined the forces if I was well. I have crohns disease even though it's generally a stomach area problem they don't allow you in the service. I can't decide whether or not I would of joined if I did not have it.

CHMOD 08-21-2005 08:34 PM

Be volunteer to kill people in a country who never attacked my country ?

Be volunteer to kill people for democracy ? Demo what ? Bush the god freak, is trying to teach someone about democracy ? What does this fucker knows about democracy. He stole his first election.

Be volunteer to kill people just to make my president and his friends richer ?

No thanks. I would never.

nojob 08-21-2005 08:35 PM

Fuck that. It would never happen. Not me.

seeric 08-21-2005 08:37 PM

i already served. fuck that shit.
USAF 1988-1993

TheDoc 08-21-2005 08:44 PM

Why would anyone volunteer for Iraq? To help protect oil? To force people into democracy that they don't want? To serve Bush?

Volunteer to help your local community, the homeless, the poor, children that need food, education.. All this within your own country!

Doctor Dre 08-21-2005 08:51 PM

Are you suicidal ? Why in hell would you get in the middle of this bloody mess

I just wouldn't because its too dangerous and I would be scared. Call me a coward, but when it comes down to your life, you'd be scared too.

TetsuoIronMan 08-22-2005 06:50 PM

One of my university friends volunteered for Iraq. She is on one of many teams going down there to consult on political issues and teach efficient administration. The stuff we take for granted here in the democratic countries. Its hard to know how to run a country when you have had fascists and morons running the show for decades.

There are many ways to promote democracy and freedom in the world. :thumbsup

Is that what Iraq is all about? Democracy?

I thought it was about killing people, fucking up their country with depleted uranium, promoting recruitment in "terrorist" groups and making more enemies than anyone could have hoped for.

Iraqi "ordinary citizens" don't need the help of naive foreigners trying to explain their concept of democracy. They have their own culture which existed long before some countries were ever heard of.

The US needs to look at it's own backyard and try some real democracy there instead of advising others on what's best for them.

Here we go with that cultural relativism again. There is not time, money nor any need whatsoever to build everything from scratch. You have educated people, you have the infrastructure, all that is needed is some technical help to speed up the process.

The experts all worked for the Baath party (or emigrated) and you need fresh blood to make people trust the government.

je_rome 08-22-2005 11:44 PM

Mr. Pat 08-23-2005 12:45 AM

fuck all that stupid nonsense about helping iraq get democracy, fighting for your country, all that bullshit

Iraq = fighting for the bush mafia, the oil cartel and halliburton crooks. fraudulent war started by a fraudulent president, made that by a fraudulent election.

anyone with at least 1/4 of a brain knows this by now.

Max Cannon 08-23-2005 01:40 AM

Would i get a "I went to Iraq to find WMD but all I got was this lousy t-shirt"

I would go if they gave me one of those shirts
