    Hunter Thompson got his wish : )

    His ashes were blown from a giant gonzo fist....100's of yards into the air above the mountain range & were spread out all over his land. "OWL RANCH"

    The fist looked something like this



    But his original plans were to be cannoned outta that fist. And Johnny Depp & Hutners wife stepped up & made sure it happened.

    Tons of A-list celebs were there & rock bands to party the night away, just like hunter would have liked it. Even some blow up dolls i heard

                      Did anyone see that documentary on the Criterion Collection edition of Fear and Loathing where HST designed the cannon for this? Ralph Steadman was there, trying to help him draw it, but Hunter kept scribbling over it and fixing it:

                      "Two thumbs on the fist... if I told you once, I told you a thousand times..."


                      That's also the documentary where The Doctor spills his whisky in the grass during the interview, and plays it off better than anyone in the history of party fouls:

                      "You see... the ice, is naturally without chlorophil. And the whisky kills, what would be the chlorophil substitute. That's why I always put the ice in the whisky, and then the WHOLE THING... into the grass. I have now abosorbed enough chlorophil to get back to the drink. (As he picks the ice up off the lawn and puts it back in the glass) That's why I'm so healthy, folks. I always roll my ice... in chlorophil... when I drink whisky."

                                                  Interesting you mentioned this...one of his long-time friends, George Stranahan, said Hunter would never had gone for this...oh well.

                                                  He was truly one-of-a-kind. A totally original voice in a time when original voices are almost non-existant...

                                                      I'm glad he went out with a bang and aparantly according to his wishes. He was good to the last grain and his works will live on for generations to come. This world was never meant for one as beautiful as him(paraphrased Don McLean lyric from Vincent about Van Gogh). I'm sad that it had to end the way it did, but it was his choice to die from the barrel of a gun.
