in·fi·nite Audio pronunciation of "infinite" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (nf-nt)
adj.

1. Having no boundaries or limits.
2. Immeasurably great or large; boundless: infinite patience; a discovery of infinite importance.
3. Mathematics.
1. Existing beyond or being greater than any arbitrarily large value.
2. Unlimited in spatial extent: a line of infinite length.
3. Of or relating to a set capable of being put into one-to-one correspondence with a proper subset of itself.

Dirty Dane 08-20-2005 07:30 PM

We don't know.
And don't ask such things again. First he flooded us, then he sent George W. Bush. Thats enough!

Well the guy asked who created god you said he was INFINITE. That doesn't answer the question.

That's like me asking which came first the chicken or the egg and you say the egg is large. Well ok, but not really the point.

sean416 08-20-2005 07:34 PM

Mankind created god in the form we know it. :)

BlueDesignStudios 08-20-2005 07:35 PM

Oh by the weay if you read the Bible, God spefically says that he is "the begining and the end" So sicne he admits he has a begining and and ending he must have been created.

Ever heard the expression "Holy mother of God?" His/her/its mother created him/her/it.

Time and space do not exist in that dimension. The human mind is not capable of comprehending infinity. What is is. What was is. What will be is.

The omnipresence of the universal supreme life force is instantaneous.

Well actually it did, as I understand it, because before this universe there was another one and before that universe there was yet another one and so on going literally forever into the past. Each of these universes (including ours) began with a big bang and then expanded for trillions of years before collapsing back upon itself (like ours eventually will) and causing another big bang.

Therefore, time has no beginning and it will never end.

Thing is, I gotta figure God's getting pretty damned bored sitting out there watching this same shit go down over and over and over again for like....well, like forever.

mikeyddddd 08-20-2005 10:23 PM

Good question. I don't know. I'm still high.

The Gnostics believed that there was a secret God and that the accepted God was really and weak, lesser God.

Donny 08-21-2005 12:08 AM

A man named George created God. I know this because God told me.

this one is too deep for GFY

The real answer to this is pretty much documented as historical fact - Israelites had their gods with El at their leader of gods, and the Judeans, with their one god Yahweh - and around the 8th century BC they had to pick one in order to prevent conflict since they were living among each other as races - so the refugee camps in Jerusalum spawned leaders that documented their decision of Yahweh - and about that time is when the old testament was basically formed - albeit with many discrepancies of stories - scientists and archeologists have proven most of the stories as myths from hard physical evidence but those original stories (about 40 of them) became the original bible and created the "one god".
It was revised again in the 600-700s BC by the Deuteronomist writers who were setting up visions of that one god sitting in the temple of Jerusalem - and the real king on the throne in those days played a little of peoples fears - sending "messangers from god" with warnings - and when the Jews disregarded them he sent his armies in to teach them a lesson - which led to great biblical stories but they were all BS to hold a population in control at the time (hmmm - sound familiar?)

Soooo - the final answer would be that each population center of the world back then created a "god or set of gods" to explain away things like eclipses and famine etc - and eventually formed them all into one god which is still used to host fear in billions of human lives - what a shame we cant progress any further
