seriously, I don't give a flying fuck if it's Cogent or bandwidth from Mars, we use it for movie galleries and had 0 downtime so far (knocking on wood). I understand you're promoting a host in your sig and all, I'm just telling this from an unbiased point of view, ie: THE CUSTOMER. We host with Natnet, Reflected and HiVelocity, and all of them are perfect for what we need. Furthermore, having exactly the same results from Natnet as far as uptime and speed comes (a host WE LOVE, btw), hivelocity costs us up to 22% the value of Natnet. As a businessman, a 78% saving is, to say the least, something to consider :thumbsup

Of course, I won't discuss about your server deals since I never tried your host, but it seems you manage to find a problem with every other service in competition with yours, as seen in this very same thread. Honestly, it sounds more desperate than professional, just my :2 cents:

With regards to the cogent comments...hey its good for some things (i.e. galler ies, tgp' setc...that's why we offer it on a separate network that fails over to webair.com tier one network when/if cogent goes down adding redundancy to the cogent setup...)

Point is if you see a company with pricing that looks too good to be true there is a reason...They have to be cutting corners somewhere. Do your homework before choosing a host... :thumbsup

exactly my brother. i did bgp routes on em and they are just renting space and ip's from paix. You get what you pay for, but hate to see people learn the lesson the hard way.

i don't go for cheap servers 'coz i don't want to comprise the quality of it's performance.

That may be the case for now, but everyone started some where. We're not at the mercy of anyone. PIE has not had a network outage in over 2 years. We run our own routers/servers/racks etc.. and have 24/7 access to the noc.

We also offer a mixture, not ONLY cogent. But hey thanks for your input, that was lovely. I suggest people do their homework as well.. ;)
