Princess In Graphic Sex Shocker
PRINCESS Margaret is portrayed performing lewd sex acts and taking drugs in a controversial new Channel 4 drama.
The programme, called The Queen's Sister, highlights the wild excesses of party princess Margaret?s life. PARTY PRINCESS: Margaret Newcomer Lucy Cohu plays Margaret and is shown giving oral sex and having a lesbian kiss. In another scene hedonist Margaret is shown smoking "a strange cigarette" at a London party. Advertisement Francis Hopkinson, Channel 4's senior commissioning editor for drama, said the biopic was factually correct and based on interviews as well as research from existing sources. He said: "It's quite affectionate, she is our heroine and it wasn't intended as an expose. "It shows the excesses of hedonism and goes some way to explain the mental breakdown that led to her disappearance from public life." Channel 4's director of television Kevin Lygo added: "I don't know if Her Majesty will be watching, but we could send her a DVD. "I think some people will find it quite arresting and challenging. It's factually accurate and it's a racy romp." He said the drama captured Margaret "in the late Fifties and early Sixties when she was absolutely the most glamorous public female figure in a Diana-like way in her own era and then it all went a bit wrong." Margaret caused a scandal during her romance with World War II hero Group Captain Peter Townsend between1953-55. Townsend was divorced, which back then made him unsuitable for royal marriage. Margaret announced publicly in 1955 that she would not marry Townsend saying in a statement at the time: ?I would like it to be known that I have decided not to marry Group Captain Peter Townsend... Mindful of the Church's teaching that marriage is indissoluble and conscious of my duty to the Commonwealth, I have resolved to put these considerations above all others". But Margaret was to become the first royal since Henry VIII to divorce. She married photographer Anthony Armstrong-Jones, later known as Lord Snowdon, with whom she had two children. The couple were divorced in 1978 after which Margaret took a string of lovers. She died in 2002. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/showbiz...name_page.html |
