My Suggestions to Better the United States.

Lowering the cost of Health Care:
Outlaw malpractice suits. Go to the doctor at your own fucking risk knowing that he or she may fuck up. It's the chance you take. What's your other option? Dying a slow and agonizing death because you didn't go to a doctor? Quit suing all the doctors and malpractice insurance will be a thing of the past. BUYER BEWARE. SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Feeding and Sheltering the homeless:
Start taxing churches and other religious organizations. They've had a free lunch on our expense long enough. I would make them pay higher taxes. Pay back is a bitch.

The "War on Drugs":
Legalize the fuckers. It's called thinning the herd. Survival of the fittest. If someone wants to suck on a glass dick, then let them! It's their ass not mine and in the process they'll be paying taxes for their crack, smack, heroion, and blow so it will in essence help educate my kids and repave my roads.

The Crime Rate:
See War on Drugs. Legalize drugs and it will cut down crime a very large percentage. There will no longer be a need for shady drug dealers and theiving users. All young inspiring young entreprenuers can have their very own corner crack stands and pay taxes in the process.

Welfare:
Get rid of it. If they can't pay their own tab then they can't eat. Plain and simple. All of the handouts that people depend on is the actual reason they're not getting jobs in the first place. Why should they have to? if someone else was paying my way then I'd be a lazy ass mofo, too! Desperation does wonders for people. If you rip that government provided teet away from them then I'm sure you'd be amazed at what they could accomplish in the work force. Some of them might even become doctors or lawyers.

Education:
Start paying teachers a starting salary of $100,000 a year and watch our education system blow the fuck up! Make every pro athlete donate 2% of their salary to the education system. Call it a "payback tax" or hell, use all of the money you're making from all the fucking crack head, tweekers, geekers, potheads, and huffers to pay the teachers. When teachers who have 4 year degrees make less than dish washers at Bennigans that don't even know how to spell G.E.D., we have a problem. Why should a person who taught a person to be an Engineer make 15 times less than the person they taught?

Pollution and the Ozone Layer:
Fuck it. I won't be alive to see it go and I doubt my grandchildren would appreciate the fact that I recycled a fucking aluminum can or didn't use hairspray to save their sorry asses from tanning indexes of 1200. The ungrateful bastards will probably just put me in a nursing home by the time I'm 75 so fuck them. They want me to fend for myself when I'm old and feeble then the can fend for themselves when they're young and getting emphazema!

pornguy 08-18-2005 08:08 PM

Got to say that I agree with every point.

Also if you lower the crime rate by taxing the drugs etc, then you can cut back on the number of cops. Also. If someone if found guilty of murder, and given the death sentance, then FUCKING KILL THEM. dont make us pay for them to sit on death row for 10 years!

Doctor Dre 08-18-2005 08:20 PM

I agree with every point ... I've been telling that for a long time ... the GOV should sell every drug possible ... the costs of producing them are very low ...

Pollution and the Ozone Layer is the only poitn I don't agree on... why not recycle ? there is one city near here where they recycle about 90 % of everything ... really impressive.

They put this onto products for the same reason they put the kosher symbols on foods or the American Heart Assoc. logo on things; TO SELL TO A LIMITED/TARGETED MARKET!

During the Atkins craze one certain beef seller placed onto their packaging; 100% Carb Free! Their sales increased 45% because of it. Clever marketing is pretty much all it is.

You are a retard. Hmmmm without the fear of a lawsuit you think doctors are going to be more careful or less? By the way heath care costs have almost ZERO to do with lawsuits.

How about we take addicts and move them to their own island were they can OD in away from the rest of society?

I suspect you live at home with mom and dad. Talk about welfare. Reform yes. Abolish no. Fact is welfare takes up a small % of our taxes.

Only 6% of education funds come from the federal government. 75%-80% come from local government. Are you ready for your property taxes to tripple? Paying a lousy teacher more money isn't going to make them a better teacher.

Do some research. Malpractice suits barely make a dent in health costs unlike what Bush might tell ya. Rising health costs are due to outrageous drug prices and outrageous costs of doctors, hospitals and other health services.

There will always be a percentage of the population in any society that is unemployed. So you propose to just let them starve? Guess what people do when they have no food or money, they commit crimes. Its a fact in depressed economies the crime rates go up. So much for your crime free society.

Good start, but the whole educational system needs to be overhauled. The average high school kid doesnt have a fuckin clue what they're going to do with their life. If they actually learned something in school and high school was taught at more of a college level so when they got out they would already have some or all of their career training there would be a lot less dishwashers. This is the way its done in Switzerland. When I was there just about everyone had a decent career going by the time they were 19. Which is why I believe they have such a low crime rate.

Keep polluting the planet and you most likely won't see 75. 100 years ago 1 in 200 people developed cancer, now its 1 in 3. Same with diabetes. If you don't believe a lot of it is environment related then you're even a bigger fool than you appear to be. :2 cents:

Maybe you should do a little more research yourself, like click some of the other links on that page...

http://www.medpagetoday.com/PublicHe...ement/tb1/1130

Malpractice suits cause Physicians to do what is called "Defensive Medicine" in order to win when a suit is filed. This practice makes Physicians do unnecessary tests (expensive tests) and prescribe unnecessary medicines, just to cover their asses in the event of a suit, all of which costs you more, there for making Health Care more expensive:

"59% of respondents said they ordered unnecessary diagnostic tests -- most often imaging studies. Seventy percent of emergency physicians said they ordered unnecessary scans.

52% of all physicians said they referred patients when referrals were not medically necessary.

A third of physicians said they prescribed drugs that weren't medically necessary, and the same percentage said they performed unnecessary invasive procedures.

Breast cancer was a particular target for defensive medicine, with radiologists either referring questionable results for biopsy or refusing to perform mammograms altogether.

There was no link between physicians' actual experience of litigation and their practice of defensive medicine, but physicians who lacked "confidence in their liability insurance" and those who expressed concern about the financial burden of insurance premiums were more likely to practice defensive medicine.

Physicians are more likely to refuse care to workers' compensation patients and obese patients, both groups perceived as potentially litigious."

GigoloJustin 08-19-2005 12:31 AM

I agree with most of the points. The only one I disagree with is the welfare. I think it should be tightened up a lot, but it still needs to exist. There is always a situation where good hardworking people need some help.

Example: You have a house wife with three kids, and her ass hole husband decides to start banging the babysitter and takes off. She has no income, and has always been a house wife. She may need welfare, to help live while she trains herself for the work force. Or perhaps, she might go to school. Unfortunately this isn?t the case w/ most of the people on welfare though.

I strongly agree with the health care issues. Do some research on your doctor, and get some referrals. If you trust the guy, let him do his job!! If you don?t, then you need to find a new doctor.

WRONG!

Hmm health cares cost keep going up BUT

The number of tort trials concluded in U.S. district courts declined by nearly 80 percent - from 3,600 trials in 1985 to fewer than 800 trials in 2003, the Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) reported.
Approximately nine out of 10 tort trials involved personal injury issues - most frequently, product liability, motor vehicle (accident), marine and medical malpractice cases. The percentage of tort cases concluded by trial in U.S. district courts has also declined from 10 percent in the early 1970s to 2 percent in 2003.

The most common types of federal tort trials included motor vehicle accident (20 percent), product liability (13 percent), marine (10 percent) and medical malpractice (10 percent) cases.

The estimated median damage award (the amount at which half the awards are higher and half are lower) for plaintiffs who prevailed in tort trials concluded in 2002-2003 was $201,000. The tort trial categories with the highest estimated median damage awards included medical malpractice ($600,000) and product liability ($350,000) cases.

HOWEVER

Plaintiffs won less frequently in tort trials involving medical malpractice (37 percent)

Let do the math 800 cases a year 80 of which are medical malpractice. 30 of which were won by the plaintiff. Average award $600K so that total outlay to doctors was $18 million.

Yet somehow lawsuits are the reason health care is so expensive. By the way ever think that sometimes doctors are in fact fuck ups? Do you think people should not have the right to sue if the doctor fucks up? If not I can only hope something bad happens to you or one of your loved ones so you can learn a valuable lesson in life.

The economy would crumble. Some republicans thought of that and they said it would take 30% sales tax. Ok now my local and state sales tax is already 10% so that's 40% on everything I buy. I'm not buying anything but the basics. I'm sure Wal-Mart would love just seeing all those expensive items like computers, TV etc sitting on shevles because no one is going to pay $400 sales tax on a $1000 HDTV.

What money is there going to be left to invest? Only people that could survive are millionaires. And they wouldn't be millionaires for very long. Ask a rich person if he rather have this tax system or pay $40K in sales tax on that $100K car he's about to buy?

I agree with the welfare one and that stands out. Too many freeloaders on welfare who have kids to get it, get rid of it, you cant pay you dont eat simple as that. too many people are looking for a hand out

They wouldn't pay taxes, but they'd be driven out of business by market forces. Why would someone buy illegal tax-free drugs from some shady guy on the corner when they could by Kellogs[tm] Kokaine, in a nice package at the supermarket for half the price?

You're right, state and local government make up a far bigger percentage of education funding than the federal government. Which is why a sales tax, primarily the domain of state and local governements, on drugs could increase funding for education. State and local governments also make up the majority of law enforcement budgets, hence legalizing drug sales would allow reductions in police forces and free up even more money for education.

Increasing teacher salaries is a double edged sword. Low salaries mean schools don't have a large pool of applicants to fill job openings from, so they sometimes have to settle for less than ideal teachers. High salaries mean some people will become teachers because of the money, not because they love teaching.

So who is too blame for that VICTIMS ro BAD DOCTORS? If good doctors would quit blaming VICTIMS and turn in the bad doctors their insurance would go down. As it is they protect each other even those that are quacks, rapists and molestors.

Your thinking is like saying if my car gets stolen and they guy gets sent to prison it's MY fault taxes are raised to pay for a new prison to house criminals because of overcrowding.

If you think if drugs are legalized that Wal-Mart is going to start selling them you are nuts. Businesses get protested by the religious right for selling copies of MAXIM.

Ok first of all my local sales tax is 9.75%( 8.75% for food ) which is a enough of a financial burden. Often drive 45 miles to the next state to buy groceries because they don't charge ANY sales tax on food and even after factoring the extra cost of gas I'm coming our ahead. Also if I have a large purchase to make I go to the next state because their sales tax is 6% on non-food items. And that's your main problem. People will go to where things cost less.

Sales taxes hurt the poor. They are already poor that's why they don't pay income taxes. How are they going to pay 40% sales tax? All that will do is INCREASE welfare rolls.

HighOnAcid is certainly earning his handle...

36 million Americans - about 1 in 8 people - live in poverty. 15 million live in severe poverty, with incomes less than half of the poverty level. Typically, ONE-THIRD of all Americans will be classified as poor for at least 2 months in a year.

If your moral code allows you to dismiss this issue, common sense and self-preservation should not. There are over 2 million Americans in prison, which at a cost of $20,000 per head (the average poor family lives on less than $9,000 per year), totals $40 billion a year. We have the biggest prison population and the highest ratio of our population in prison: more than so-called repressive regimes such as those of Russia and China.

Since crime rates are directly linked to poverty and specifically to employment levels, if your "solutions" were invoked, we could expect to see more people in prison and more cost. And how long before crime reaches a level where it is more accurately called civil disorder? As the British have learned in Northern Ireland, if you effectively abandon a large part of your population, those people will eventually recognize that it is against their own interests to continue to support the system.

There is a small kernel of truth from which the original poster drew his foolish conclusions: for example, it is true that the prison population has been increased by the imprisonment of growing numbers of drug offenders. But many people are put away for drug offences because they are easier to prosecute than many of the crimes they commit to support their habits. Even assuming lower drug costs came with legitimization, crime would rise if all these people were back on the streets.

Likewise the medical issue: do some proper research. Less than 5% of the cost of our healthcare system relates to malpractice insurance and although GW likes to quote from a couple of out-dated and now discredited surveys, there is no evidence to suggest that limiting or even preventing claims would reduce costs at all without also reducing the effectiveness of our healthcare system still further. The issue is merely an emotive one to divert our attention from the reality that we have the most expensive healthcare system in the world and yet it ranks as one of the worst among industrialized nations.

Employment too. Throw everyone off welfare and they will have to fend for themselves. A real vote catcher, but unfortunately one which ignores the fact that we don't have enough jobs! Two-thirds of officially poor families already have at least one parent in employment and if we forced a few million people to work or starve, the main impact would be to reduce unskilled wages still further and put more people into poverty.

And just as throwing money at policing does not reduce crime, throwing money at education does not improve it. Yes, teachers are perhaps underpaid, but that is only one - probably not the main - of our problems. Like our healthcare system, our education system is the most expensive and again, one of the least functional. You can blame most of that on a desire for less government which actually produces more government - three levels of it, national, state and local - with, like it or not, local boards of education being responsible for most of what is wrong with our schools.

Etc. Etc.

People who support simplistic, emotionally appealing solutions, rarely have any real interest in solutions at all. Certainly they are usually totally disinterested in facts. Fine, but does it never occur to such people that there has to be a reason these solutions have never been adopted? In fact, if they knew a little history, they would discover simple solutions have been tried (in Nazi Germany for example) and failed.

There are a lot of things Walmart doesn't sell that other businesses pick up the slack. The religious right hasn't shut down the liquor business, they wouldn't be able to shut down Bob's Booze Barn just because he adds a marijuana shelf in the store, especially when they find they are opposed by numbers bigger than their own :winkwink:
