I don't know if any of these made it to the US. It looked good for the time, but I think style-wise it doesn't hold a candle to the z3 or z4.

Good design for the times. This was late 80's or early 90's right?

Mike, they were only made from 1988 to 1991, and I think only for the European market. I lived in Germany from 88 to 92 and got a chance to rent one for a week. Drove it like mad through the hills of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) and into Bavaria.

I've got the 3 litre Z4 and it's the best car I've ever had. Period.

Personally I've always been in love with the M Roadster, one of the most badass convertibles ever made.

In my opinion Z3 looks better than Z1!!!

Agreed, that was a hot model for it's time.

M Roadster all the way!

drove it the other day.......it's a beast!! it has such power and such grip on the road.....too fun to drive :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

I wish BMW would make an M Z4, but they probably won't as sales of the M Roadster were so bad :(

because of the high price tag. Most people would opt for a higher class car for that money, and not put out the bucks just for a powerful engine.

they made the z3 M... it was called the M3roadster I beleiave and it was fucking fast, My uncle had one adn a kid in my car club also had one, they only came in hard top and they had 300+ horse power, faster than an m3

COol little car, but no room and incredibly uncomfortable and ugly

z8 for sure

my friends dad has the Z8, driven in it a few times.
