there was an interesting lawsuit in FL about 10 years ago where a boyfriend sued his girlfriend. He wanted her to have the baby and she didnt want to. Needless to say before anything could have been done she went and had the abortion, would have been a great case to follow though, at least for a few months anyways :winkwink:

Not that forcing people to be parents when they don't want to be is any better. Sentencing a child to suffer is more cruel than ending it before it starts... but I don't know. I'm torn on this issue. It's 2005, there's no need for this selfish, ignorant, and careless behavior.

I personally do not agree with abortion, but that's not my choice to make so I am pro choice. Once they start taking our rights away where will they stop? been to both major marches on DC too :)

Pro Choice here as well. It's her body, and it's her decision what she can, or wants to do with it. That goes for both this issue, or any other.

While I understand both sides of the issue, and realize that perhaps they should have been more careful to prevent being in a situation, and looking and 18 and life in the eye and realizing they can't handle it, plus throw some morals in there.. I still believe it's the woman's right to decide what she can do with her own body.

First off - in answer to your original question - I do have an opinion on abortion - and no its none of your business

Second - you obviously dont know very much about stem cell research - and probably follow the "company line" approach since you are probabbly unaware that Bush signed into law the ability for the government to use stem cells in 2001 and NIH has been researching them ever since - not withstanding his "public" stance - he has already approved it. There are three different kinds of stem cells - and even the embryonic one doesnt require an abortion as its taken from the umbilical cord (which can be done at birth) so until you read a little and realize that stem cells (like the ones in bone marrow) are not something you can rally around to the educated people in the public - we have been letting doctors use them in transplants since the 1940s.

Third - and most important - WTF does someones private thoughts about yes/no on abortion have to do with the business of porn? Or are you just a surfer with a bunch of time to kill - now back to my lunch

imho it is better that they be performed by qualified medical personnel instead of in the back of a van. Women deserve better.

What we also need is better sex education and more readily available contraceptives so that unplanned pregnancies are more easily avoided. THAT is where the problem lies.

1. It being used as birth control. If a woman has three abortions (not rape, incest etc), just freakin' sterilize her.

2. I don't think the MAN has enough say in it. I agree it's a woman's body, but if SHE chooses to have the baby, when the father doesn't want to, it should be HER that raises the baby on her own.

Spare me the "It's his responsibility" comments. It IS his responsibility, but it's ALSO hers. She's the one deciding, sometimes without regard to what the man wants or is capable of taking care of, both emotionally AND financially.

Perhaps some sort of arbitration (I can't believe I'm suggesting ANY legal process here) is best. The man gets a voice, and the woman gets a voice. If the arbitrator decides the man SHOULD be responsible because he's capable, so be it. Then the woman gets the ultimate final choice.

If the arbitrator decided the man ISN'T responsible because he ISN'T capable of support, the women can STILL have the final say on whether or not to keep the baby, but without any financial recourse on the man.

I am a woman, and I could not have an abortion unless it was necessary to ensure I lived to care for the three children I already have.

However, I don't think the government has any right to make that choice for me. It's my body, and my decision.

I think the people who make abortion such an issue should shift their focus to helping the millions of children who were not aborted, and are now starving, homeless, abused, neglected, born addicted to drugs, and so on. Otherwise, they are quite the hypocrits, IMO. "That child has a right to live and I will condemn anyone who feels their womb is their own business! But I don't give a shit what kind of life that child has, because it's not my concern!" Come on.
