If you sleep a lot is something wrong?

I sleep on average about 13 hours a day including naps. I have had my thyroid checked and shit already. Anyone else sleep a ton?

Shortbread 08-15-2005 04:30 PM

Werd :thumbsup

AndrewKanuck 08-15-2005 04:31 PM

I sleep on average 3 hours, so feel lucky

NaughtyRob 08-15-2005 04:32 PM

Wow. Yeah, that is too much. I am lucky to get 6 hrs.

wedouglas 08-15-2005 04:33 PM

That is a lot of sleep. I get maybe 7.

sonofsam 08-15-2005 04:33 PM

dude we already had this talk, when you spend majority of your day having sex with sasha/tobi/emily/madison/alexa.. obviously you are going to get worn out and need to get some rest to get rejuvenated

ronaldo 08-15-2005 04:33 PM

The only time I've ever slept more than normal is when I was on Zyband to quit smoking.

Apparently anti-depressants can make those that aren't depressed, depressed.

Is depression a possibility?

Varius 08-15-2005 04:33 PM

Normally during the week I sleep just 3-5 hours nightly, then on weekends I sleep 10+ each day.

nofx 08-15-2005 04:33 PM

maybe depression setting in

Steve 08-15-2005 04:33 PM

maybe you aren't getting a good sleep - perhaps you suffer from sleep apneia or some other malady?

Take that back motherfucker

Furious_Female 08-15-2005 04:36 PM

When you sleep too much your body doesn't want to wake up. I wake up after 6.5 hours no matter what. If I go back to sleep, I am even more tired after that extended sleep... when I stay up from a 6.5 hour slumber, I'm good to go :thumbsup

Alexey Oblomov 08-15-2005 04:39 PM

I sleep 10 hours, but would like to sleep for 6 hours per days.

JuiceMonkey 08-15-2005 04:39 PM

I get 8 if possible

you're probably depressed.

synapse 08-15-2005 04:57 PM

depression usually

Hollywood Horwitz 08-15-2005 04:58 PM

riddler 08-15-2005 04:59 PM

tristan_D 08-15-2005 05:27 PM

I used to have that problem too. I sleep for about 12 hours straight, but not anymore coz I have so much to do.

eamedia 08-15-2005 05:47 PM

i sleep a shitload on weekends... and about 5 or 6 hours a night during weekdays

sniperwolf 08-15-2005 05:54 PM

13 hours is a lot of sleep...
i sleep 3-5 hrs/day... how i wish to consume 8 hrs.. but no dice for me

digifan 08-15-2005 06:08 PM

Einstein used to sleep 12 hr per day... :)

Raven 08-15-2005 06:12 PM

How long have you been sleeping this many hours?
Did your doc raise your dosage recently?

13 hours a day is a lot of sleep.

When you do sleep, is it a deep sleep?

How long are your naps?

When you go to bed, how many hours do you sleep at one time?

Is it hard to wake you up?

When you do wake up, are you very groggy? Do you feel sort of heavy lidded? Or do you feel rested once you've awakened?

StuartD 08-15-2005 06:12 PM

some people just sleep more... I slept that much once upon a time. It's all in what you become used to.

If you start forcing yourself to only be awake for 8 hours a day, then eventually... you'll get used to it.

It's just way to easy to sleep a little longer... then a little longer... then a little longer... especially in this industry where there's no set hours.

ry0t 08-15-2005 06:19 PM

Go get checked out for mono and then if you're fine start adding vitamins to your diet. You should try excersizing more. It helps.

EviLGuY 08-15-2005 06:23 PM

I go in cycles myself.. I'll go for a couple weeks on 5-6 hrs then I'll take a week where I get about 12 hrs a night.

Most often I only sleeo less than 7 hours, and I hate having that inadequate sleeping hours.

Nysus 08-15-2005 06:38 PM

It depends on my state of mind, and how well I'm taking care of my body, food / nutrition wise as well as excercise, and of course my mind.. which wow, would change my state of mind... heh.

Matt

reed_4 08-15-2005 06:44 PM

8 hours of sleep would be enough to rest the body and too much of it would make you feel lazy all the day.

BradM 08-15-2005 06:45 PM

I used to sleep that much, now I get a comfortable 6-7. That is pretty normal.

You're just a lazy cvnt dude. ;)

boner 2.0 08-15-2005 06:47 PM

take a look at that : Overview of Obstructive Sleep Apnea

riddler 08-15-2005 06:53 PM

I'll say it again.. Stop taking GFY advice and go to a doctor that practices in sleep anaylisis..

Go to your local MD and get a referral to the local sleep center..

RINSE AND REPEAT

chaze 08-15-2005 06:55 PM

You probably worked up to it right? You need to force yourself back out of it. It will be hard but after 3 months or so you will back to 7-8 like normal. I don't think it healthy to get more then 8 hours a night.

sfera 08-15-2005 06:57 PM

you may have depression or nothing to look forward too :(

Bullshit, it is impossible to wake you up when you are napping, you usually say come back in 30 minutes 3-4 times before you actually get up. And you are usually very groggy. The only reason that this might have slightly changed in the last couple weeks is because you got a dog and have to take him out the second you wake up.

I stand corrected, I am groggy after naps. :(
