Video Professor Scam - Even our soldiers get scammed by these guys

Some of you may have already visited my web site at www.thevideoprofessorscam.com and have read about some of the people that have been victimized by Video Professor, Inc. and how, if you have become a victim of this company's shady business practices, get your money back.

Well, this morning I received an email from a sailor who is deployed overseas who has also been taken advantage of by this unscrupulous company.

Here is the text from his message:

I've also been duped by the same scam that you and many others have fallen
victim of from VP. I ordered one of lesson packs and even saw the fine print
saying that I would be billed the 69.95 if I chose to keep the product.

I believed that if I wasn't satisfied with the product I could return it to them
once I received it.

Currently I am deployed overseas and therefore received the package a month after ordering it. I had overlooked the 10 day deadline to return the package and was hopelessly tardy. No big deal it happens all the time in the military, you get screwed you suck it up and keep going right.

The seventy dollars I decided was spent on a lesson in life. Since then I have kept a watch on my bank account, and was disgusted to find just yesterday that I had been billed the shipping and handling costs 3 times since ordering the one set, and have also been billed a second payment of seventy bucks.

Pardon my mouth but that is fucking bullshit. Furthermore, I don't see an end in sight. I don't know how to stop them from billing my account multiple times for some stupid ass horseshit that I wouldn't wipe my ass with. I didn't use the product, so I can't speak of the quality either, but I can vouch for the quantity of boot I'd break off in that cum sucking mother fucker's ass if I ever catch him in person.

I would like to respetfully request any assistance in the return of the money deducted from my account, and some fucking justified restitution.

Pardon my mouth again, but I don't know any other way to convey the frustration. Email me back if you have any advice or suggestions as to my situation.

Respectfully,

(name withheld to protect the sender's identity)

I've had my Video Professor Scam web page up for more than a year and receive messages every day from people who have been scammed by these guys. I thought I'd post the CPL's message here so as many people as possible can see just how low this company will go to make a buck.

If you need more information about these guys, or if you or someone in your circle of family or friends has been victimized by Video Professor, Inc. go to my web site at http://www.thevideoprofessorscam.com to obtain instructions regarding obtaining a refund.

And if there's anyone at Video Professor, Inc. that reads this board... :321GFY ... and not in the 'nice way' it's usually intended here.

I laughed my ass off when I first saw the as on TV for that shit. I can't believe people actually buy that crap.

Is scamming soldiers worse than scamming everyone else?

moneymotivates 08-14-2005 08:42 AM

Props on the website and speaking up and taking a stand against bullshit companies like VP!

2257-Ben 08-14-2005 08:43 AM

Thanks... as far as I have been able to calculate since the web site has been up, I've potentially cost them more than $3.5 million in refunds and lost revenue.

Shoehorn! 08-14-2005 08:58 AM

Is this the video professor guy that teaches you to use certain Windows programs?

Couple questions.

1. Why would anyone here buy a CD that tells you how to buy a computer?

2. Why not just do a chargeback, and be done with it?

I like how you're making money from this with the "news flash, I have compiled a list of reputable companies" hahahaa :thumbsup

The scam is that the people who are buying these CDs don't know they are going to be billed and rebilled and rebilled... They are led to believe they are purchasing A lesson... not subscribing to a service that's going to send them lessons every 5 weeks for software they either don't own or want to receive lessons for.

Actually, I've only made a couple of hundred dollars from the affiliate link that's on the site. I was approached by a couple of different companies to refer people to their sites but there's only one site where I am an affiliate member. I've not even made enough to pay for the web hosting for a year with these affiliate links. Now if only I could transfer this traffic to something more 'lucrative'...

The CD's by video professor don't teach you how to BUY a computer... they supposedly teach you how to use various software packages ON the computer.

Apparently, the credit card companies don't allow chargebacks for this particular company. I receive email messages from people all of the time regarding this.

chazer 08-14-2005 09:59 AM

it's really hard to feel sorry for some of the idiots that get ripped off.

Wow, I'm sure some program owners here would like to be added to this "no chargeback" list.

Where is that company based? Hard to believe there is no legal way to attack them if it is in the US.

Unfortunately, it's not 10 days from the date you receive them... it's 10 days from the date they are shipped from Video Professor... just another little detail they don't tell you. In the case of the the sailor who sent me the message, he didn't receive them until the 10 days had LONG passed.

tony286 08-14-2005 07:42 PM

Now will their chargeback ratio will be 1%

Thanks... it's been an interesting lesson in SEO for me to consistently keep the Google rankings... and the funny thing is every now and then Video Professor changes their web site and I end up being the top ranking because they lose their relavance due to the context of the site.

2257-Ben 08-14-2005 07:44 PM

Based out of Lakewood Colorado. If people follow the directions on the site they'll usually be able to get their money back.. but in some cases they really do have to work for it.

But it doesn't say ANYTHING about this on the television advertisement or when the AOL tech support asshole tells you it's 'free' offer.

Did you even bother to go to my site and read about the shit this company pulls... and BTW... they CHANGED their web site after I blew the whistle on them and put up my web site.
