Alien Laptops
Who has one? What are your thoughts? Do you like them?
I'm looking at them and they seem to be badass! Any reviews would be great! Thanks, Incog |
My son has one and loves it. He's a gamer. To me, it's just another laptop. (though it does have cool glowy blue alien eyes on it)
He researched an eternity before getting it. The downsides I remember him speaking of are short battery life. Also, it is heavy. All I really know about it is that I'm glad his dad paid for it, and not me. ;) |
I've got one. Havent had a problem yet and it's gnarly fast. Good as a desktop replacement but not good if you want to travel around with it, it's super heavy, super big and forget about battery life, gotta plug it in. It would be like traveling with a bowling ball. If I could do it again.... I would just by a super fast desktop and then buy a speedy, smaller travel sized M laptop which I did anyway. :2 cents:

well I have a sager which is just like a alienware except for the name and fancy case. Built very heavy but built to last. Battery life is very low though.

This is the one...
This is the one I'm looking at. It's got a centrino and it's screaming fast.

Here's the specs on their traveler model... you'd think with a name like "Affordable Traveler", that the WEIGHT might be a relevent thing to put in the specs.

They are for gaming - PERIOD. If you don't plan on using it for gaming, then it's a waste. The point is so gamers don't have to lug around big gaming systems and monitors.
If your looking for a laptop, go with the real deal and get a powerbook. |
nice font.
waste of money |
Waste
I have an alienware area 51 mobile, it sucks. I have had it go back to the factory twice, the customer service sucks. They are located in puerto rico or some country where all the operators have latin accents. The damn things are heavy and overheat enough to toast bread on. If you were to buy one you could have access to the alineware support forum and trust me, its not pretty. Try a toshiba cosmio, mine has been trouble free for a year.

Thank you for all the responses guys. It helps.
