Just made this beginners SEO guide

I have been asked so many questions about SEO, and I see a lot of people trying to understand the basic stuff. So now I have created this free list of tips for the beginner webmaster.
Let me repeat this.. it is BASIC SEO.. I will NOT show you my real deep info. It would not be fair to our paying customers or other SEO-consultants, to give that kind of information away for free. I am doing this to give you a basic understanding of what SEO is, and what you could expect from SEO work on your sites. This will also help you from getting scammed by pretenders trying to sell you a SEO solution.

Its ment to be basic to make sure everyone understand the next level. Im working on the 3 next series
1 - the "Intermediate" article series for next month - will be a good and profitable read for a lot of people.
2 - Tools and how to use them, and what not to do
3 - Monitoring and finetuning

You know whats the irony ? You should start following your own advice
or people will believe its crap.
Example:

Quote:

Beginner SEO: Filenames and Path PDF Print E-mail
This article or trick is very short.

When you create a site, and subpages it is important that you keep in mind how you name the files and file-paths. Files and paths are also seen ad "keywords"

Nice one Ebus... very useful

Nice stuff - but why would you copy someone elses work and call it your own? Unless you own the online web design course? Its good of you to compile others works and call them your own - but usually it would be good to at least give some reference to the original authors

This was the case on the first two pages I looked at - the third was a copy of Googles page rank page

I wrote 5 of the tricks myself, the 2 is copyed.
I dident say that I had composed it all myself.

Let me quote the page "The idea is that we select quality information and share it with you, and in return you submit what you can provide. Everything from site news and links, to press releases and articles."

Linkster 08-14-2005 05:01 AM

ebus_dk - I understood that - thats why I asked why you didnt give the original authors credit - not trying to be a jerk - it's just common decency to at least acknowledge the sources.
I guess Im just a little grumpy and apologize if I came across that way - but I've been ripped off so many times for work I wrote about SEO years ago that while I really dont care and have never charged anyone for SE advice - I just get pissed when I see others use other peoples work without reference and then charge for it (not saying that you are doing this - just a general statement of why I get grumpy)

Sebo de Macho 08-14-2005 06:26 AM

very informative! thanks.
