My dog is frothing at the mouth
 

My girl was just walking the dog and she comes back crying with the puppy.
He is sneezing every two seconds and frothing at the mouth like crazy. I think he is having an allergic reaction to something. We went to the emergency hospital and there was a 4 hour line up. If it was serious I am sure they would have treated him right away. Anyone had problems like this before?

i thought it usually meant rabies. is your dog current on rabies shots?

I have but my dog ate a cake of soap, Doubt that is your problem.

Grass allergy. You'd be suprised how many dogs are allergic to grass pollen. Give him a benadryl. Tilt his head back, open his mouth wide and drop it right into the back of his throat and give it a quick poke with your finger to make it go down.

Any sort of poison (toxin) will do that.

It dosnt have to be deadly... Skunks, poison ivy ect. could do it.

if the dog has never had shots, it might be distemper.

if it happens again, and you love the dog, you must take it to a vet immediately for treatment.

distemper is very hard on the animal, and usually fatal if untreated.
