Am I right they want nominations of the people who AT THE MOMENT have the most influence on the industry OR the people who have had the most influence as a whole throughout the years?

I read that AVN article a few times and I'd have to say I understand the are looking for people/companies who HAVE HAD the most influence as a whole.

My opinion is worthless since I dont have enough knowledge,
but i would like to point out a few things

- Who had the first major clickthru program? (Webpower w/ Amateurhardcore, and they're still in the biz. Fuck their banners were basically in every site)
- Who has fought succesfully against censorship many times? (I dont know the persons really, but I assume there were many people involved)
- Who came up with the idea of recurring programs (probably Fantasyman? could be wrong here)
- Who is a role model for many many people doing TGP's (Thehun)
I have to say he has a lot of influence in the free sites scene

If the question is - who has had the most influence on this industry - everybody should think to include

larry flynt or huge hefner -

Larry flynt has tried to position himself as the legal protector of this industry.

If Flynt hadn't, Hefner would have - to protect his own ass.

I think there are a lot of programs and people that get way too much credit -- just do some surfing and see what ads are up all over the place.

I think freesite webmasters will start to get more credit -- now many of them are doing their own paysites. Some examples would be Richard's Realm's UK paysite, Tommy's NewYorkWhores, Greenguy's Annie Loves GreenGuy, OnProbation's OpFlix, Sublime Directory's Oxcash... Then you have smaller freesites doing paysites also (usually partnering w/ other freesites to pay for the content/design) -- Exxxotica and NudeBabesCentral, Freeone's Payones, Nifield's Princess sites, Pichunter, etc. etc.... One of the powers that these big link sites have -- they can give priority link listings to sites that push their program... also because there's a lot of traffic and history between these sites -- there's probably more loyalty and trust.
