I need to FORMAT this desktop HELP!
 

I am using this desktop while my laptop is being repaired. But It has a virus or something that is eating the shit out of the ram. So I have tried to format it, and cant. It gives an error. I tried the recovery disk, and it wont work either.


Any other ideas.

and for any idiot that says Format C: learn to read.

You must "go in" the DOS...
If you have Norton on that comp make startup disk (emergency floppy) and reboot from floppy, if you don't have Norton make that floppy on any other comp with Norton installed...
reboot... go in the bios, and set floppy as 1st boot source... reboot...
voila, you are "in" the Dos...
now do what you need to do with your friend Norton...

Get a win98 bootdisk www.bootdisks.com - then fdisk /mbr, and then format c:/

if your HD is almost full try to free some space, and then try again
