Designers, Cartoonists, Everybody ! Read this
 

If you work for someone, he expect you to do the job, right ?...that's what I did. After the job is done, I expect to be paid, is that normal ? ...that's he didn't do.

The excuse is : " ok, i did not use and am not using your design."

That guy wanted a tattoo (for his back)...I did what he want... he loved it ! show him a preview and ask for the payment... he says I'm finishing my arm tattoo and then i pay you. I'm like ...uh ok ...A few months later, he ignore my msgs... I say i wanna be pay and then he says :"ok, i did not use and am not using your design. I wont pay for something i'm not using.".

The fact is if I'm drawing something for someone who hired me. What he's doing with the design isn't of my concerns. If he's using it or not...i don't care , I put some time in this artwork.

I did my job....he didn't.

anyone has something to say about that ? cmon...

i know how you feel. I was ripped off once so now i ask for a down payment. Ill keep you in mind when i need a cartoonist.

Next issue?

also maybe post his name so others dont use him. When you rip people off you get shot in foot. If someone ripped me off i would slam his name all over the board until he paid up. Good luck I added u to icq , i may need a cartoonist down road

Sorry to hear that Benny.. I also had similar experiences.. not just once.. and after like maybe the third time.. I have already learned to ask downpayments before we do anymore drawings or designs.. sometimes people just take advantage of you when you are too nice.. or naive like me.. anyway, good luck with your biz.. next time ask upfront downpayments..
