Picked it up yesterday and replaced our customer support numbers with skypein numbers for europe and US.

Who uses skype here?
Any alternatives / competitors ? (voipbuster sucks).

Is it stable long term?

I love skype. Since we're so far away from anything, it's a huge benefit.. and because women can do two things at once, with headphones you can talk and type/work at the same time.

The genius part of it basicly is you integrate all phone traffic (which is inefficient and oldschool) to the set of communication tools we are used to now like IM, email..

I just load up skype and see/play voice mail messages (going through voicemail on a real phone is bitch) and basicly handle calls
from every location.

For the customer or caller POV theres no difference.. its better even since you can provice local numbers for them.

Yeah Skype is pretty sweet and I haven't heard of any long term problems with them

I use it, when I call skye to phone sometimes the quality is poor on the other side

Skype is growing rapidly, currently there are over 42million skype users and getting 150k new subscribers daily!

owners of skype sometime ago asked morgan stanley to organize sale of their business, New Corp got interested in purchasing Skype for 3 billion dollars. Although specialists say that going IPO will be a better move for skype financially than selling out for 3billon.

Well.. i can see where the owners of skype are coming from ;)
