need help gaining a refund from webhosting co
 
I signed up to aplus.net eariler this year for webhosting and everything was fine. Newbie didn't know much and was happy at the time.

Then a month ago all hell broke loose. My account was suspended.
Spoke to online support and was told that the account was suspended and I would have to ring up to find out the reason (i live in australia). I should note that it took 2 hours online to get this answer from the twit at aplus.

So I rang and was told straight away that my account was permanently suspended for adult content. I informed them that the sales person said adult content was fine as long as it wasn't illegal content.
I argued for a while and then said ok let me access all my files and i'll get a new host. Then they wouldnt' let me login into my ftp, db or anything!

Another week of emails fly by before I can get them to finally transfer my files to a new host.

I then went back to the aplus site and spoke to a sales person. Asked the salesperson if i could host adult content on aplus - answer was 'sure so long as it isn't beastiality or child porno'.

Took a screen grab of this and sent it off to aplus. Guess what, they just realised that my account was suspended for excessive bandwidth usage and using too much CPU time.

Ok - now I couldn't believe I had to explain to them that i was NOT over the limit for the month and could they explain to me the issue re CPU usage.

Next email - "Our admin made a mistake, we wish to offer you one month on (insert more expensive plan here) at $39.95".
Bzzzzzzzzzzzztttt I have a new host because you guys stuffed me around so much.

I keep getting the run around from these pricks. It's not about the money anymore, i'm pissed at the absolute bs they are spewing out. They have chopped and changed their story so many times.
Any advice or should i just let it go and move on?

Every single person that works at aplus is a complete and total fucking moron. I've spoken to numerous different incompetents there and all have had nfi what they are doing or how to go about resolving any type of problem.

Yeah that is an HUGE understatement. One of the worst companies i've ever dealt with.

Useless bunch of idiots. Their tech support is comprised of monkeys i'm 100% certain of this.

just deny the credit card charges and move on. sounds like it will be a pain dealing with them.

I should have stated, I actually quite naievely and stupidly paid upfront for a year. So I want a refund of the amount paid.

They made all the errors in this instance and I am not ready to just suck it up. Would like to propogate how useless they are before I put it to rest :)

a+ that was your mistake why would you use a corperate company. They don't care about you. :2 cents:

Find a host that's a partner, that's really what it's all about.
