New Visa Reg, A Good One for a change...
Clients of Epoch were notified 1/28/02 about a new Visa Regulation that would take effect very soon. Today, Visa announced that they are enforcing a new policy which will prohibit vendors of adult sites to promote their business with terminology that might imply possible involvement in child pornography. What we know at this time is that this new policy will be enforced by 5967 merchants (such as Payment Service Providers) as well as Visa Acquirers. Specifically, what Visa is outlining includes sites which use terms such as lolotia, pre-teen, pedo, or peda, or any other verbiage that can be associated with actual or suggested child pornography to promote, market, or advertise their websites under any guise including domain names, meta-tags, and email advertising. Offenders will be reported to the FBI as outlined by the new policy. Epoch encourages anyone with additional information to post to this board, as shall we, as additional information becomes available.
