Mind Game Riddle!!!
 

This riddle must be done IN YOUR HEAD and NOT using paper and a pen. Try it!

Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000.

Now add 30. And another 1000.

Now add 20. Now add another 1000. Now add 10.

What is the total?



Did you get 5000? Way to go... most of us do, join the crowd!

But you know what? We're all wrong!

The correct answer is actually 4100. Don't believe it? Check it with a calculator or on paper!

god damn, that just fucked me up.

I keep getting 5000 and calc tells me im wrong, I'm guessing i get fucked up on the 3rd line somewhere

I must be a fucking genius because I don't see why it could be any other answer than 4100.

i did it twice and still got 5000 the second time. lol

Everyone pretty much gets to 4,090. When you add the last 10, since you have been thinking in terms of thousands, you mistakingly increase the thousandths place to 5,000 instead of the hundredths place to 4,100.
