WHOA Vegas prices are INSANE for the January Show. Will you still go?

I started doing some research for the January show. For any decent hotel on the strip near the show from Jan 5 to 7 you are looking at $300 to $500 a night. The Venetian looks to be $600 or $700 a night.

I don't know about anybody else but I think if that's going to be the case we are going to pass on Vegas. I'm not big on spending a few thousand dollars to go to a show that is going to be packed with fans. Anybody else feel the same?

Tala 08-08-2005 03:21 PM

Wow. Looks like a lot of folks are going to be sharing rooms. :eek7

Shap 08-08-2005 03:24 PM

Caesar's is $500 a night
Flamingo $300 a night.
The Craposphere $285 a night

GTS Mark 08-08-2005 03:27 PM

We just booked last week as soon as we heard that all the shows were going to be going on at the same time. Phew!

DH

tranza 08-08-2005 03:28 PM

That's just insane...

Mr Pheer 08-08-2005 03:28 PM

call up the idiot that plans the show during the same time as the consumer electronics show and tell them thanks

wdsguy 08-08-2005 03:30 PM

If you book through rose tours its only $279/night I think

Roald 08-08-2005 03:35 PM

great, when I finally decide to come over to Vegas they come up with these prices.

dready 08-08-2005 03:37 PM

It's not so bad if you get the package price.. but it looks like it's going to be a rediculous mob.

I love the stratosphere, and last time I stayed there it was 70$ a night... of course you aren't near anything...lol

Sosa 08-08-2005 03:55 PM

way too expensive

NaughtyRob 08-08-2005 03:56 PM

Why dont you try Fiesta or Texas Station. Take a taxi to the strip, save a ton.

Mako 08-08-2005 03:57 PM

Frontier baby.

Back in the day they had a seven year long labor strike (no joke), picketers, the whole works, even in the heat lol. Business got so bad that you could stay there on weekends for $19 a room.

Ahhhhh the good old days.

sicone 08-08-2005 03:57 PM

I will be there... price is no matter

Lol, I must have stayed there 50 times during that strike, they used to give out coins if you got a blackjack and if you saved up enough you got a free room.

FilthyRob 08-08-2005 04:12 PM

fat cash for crappy rooms you don't stay in except when your passed out.

Ah, knew there had to be a reason other than Internext. I have a feeling getting my usual comp isn't going to work during this time.

riddler 08-08-2005 04:15 PM

why is it a must to stay in a high star hotel? hell who cares if you are on the strip, get a room at some hotel thats cheap for the stay, you are only going to be there when you are sleeping or not partying.. not worth 500$ a night for a room that wont be used much..

The Ghost 08-08-2005 04:16 PM

I'll rent out a few rooms for the show for a fair price :winkwink:

I don't live an out of this world lifestyle and I'm definitely able to live without certain things. Sleep is something i enjoy and I prefer to be comfortable in the bed I'm sleeping in. I'd rather skip the show than sleep in some moldy smokey hotel.

s9ann0 08-08-2005 05:31 PM

probly won't bother I stayed at home for miami and I had a great time here instead

Okidoki 08-08-2005 05:56 PM

Corleone 08-08-2005 06:10 PM

was checking the venetian site.

$719 / night.. without flight etc :( daaaaaaaaamn

MrIzzz 08-08-2005 06:20 PM

its almost time to say fuck internext.

ALY i love you, but if you read this, hit me up, because theres no way i feel like paying that kinda cash for a show filled with surfers

V_RocKs 08-08-2005 06:25 PM

$1300 for a flight and 4 nights with my GF isn't bad... Though it was only $1000 last year and last year I had 6 nights...

V_RocKs 08-08-2005 06:28 PM

Then again, last year the show was mid-week, this time it is on the weekend... that is doubling your rates.

CashLikeWhoa_Mike 08-08-2005 06:36 PM

These prices are for walk ups.

What will be the prices through the block of rooms reserved for the conference?

When does registration for that start?

boneprone 08-08-2005 06:38 PM

Its way too early to be pricing..

IF you buy now you will be paying a premium rate.

reed_4 08-08-2005 06:40 PM

Looks like another awesome party to look forward to.

KittyLix 08-08-2005 06:41 PM

damn didn't know it gets that high here during that time :helpme thankfully i dont have to deal with it :)

Cockmonkey 08-08-2005 06:41 PM

House in vegas...

Wow Joe you have a good rate on a house in vegas? Thats great! I also have a house there that someone left and neglicted to pay his rent, inform the landlord and left damage after only a few months. Real responsible fellow, real stand up and trustworthy. I would always recommend that someone do business with him and vouch for his ethics and overall business practices, after all when you carry a knife around what else do you need in a "friend"?

Real fucking nice...

Chris 08-08-2005 06:51 PM

Wait until we get our block of rooms
rosetours will take care of it

i really wish avn would redate the show
or move it OUT OF VEGASSSSSSSSSSSS plenty of other cities that would be kick ass for internext

IE NY , TX , CA

Ya can't fix stupid. Too late to change? Plus all the press will there in force and cover both.

Then there will be the cross over from the electronics show to the porn show.... Security will be more of an issue.

Did AVN do this on purpose? There were some looking to break away from AVN and have another show at the same time. This might be a good opportunity in another city. Duh, how about Florida in January? Makes more sense than Florida in August. Yep, prices will be higher too, but as high as Vegas?

NY would be nice...there are no webmaster shows around the north-east area.

je_rome 08-08-2005 07:14 PM
