I already know how much it costs to develop a solo site, but how much for a reality??

now that i have all the initial costs out of the way, i can pop out solo girl sites with enough content for a year for 5000cdn

but how much does it cost for a reality site??

After Shock Media 08-08-2005 02:51 PM

Do you still have a soul? That has some value you know.

Ice 08-08-2005 02:52 PM

to give you an idea... I think the last site EscotBiz did... exclusive content was around 80-100k in total

I could be wrong but I'm sure it's around there

sonofsam 08-08-2005 02:55 PM

80-100k for 1 site?

is that with like 10-20 scenes to start off with?

i cant fathom how it could cost 100k to start 1 site

I can and quickly.
Assuming you want to have a years worth of material ready to go, weekly updates.
12 Scenes to start - 12,000
52 updates - 52,000
Design - 1,000
Promo material - 1,000
CMS - 500 to 3,500
Cascade solution - You already have but lets say 1,500
CCbill - 750
Epoch - 750

So far 83k not including any advertising, promo's or any other happy shit.

oh i know its 1000/per scene... i was talking about initial startup, wouldn't make sense in doing 72 scenes right off the bat if the site doesn't do well, right?

Ok assume you will start with 12 and want to test the waters for 3 months to make sure it is worthwhile to continue. That still is 24k min. for content.
BTW 1k scenes are low end of the spectrum.

sonofsam 08-08-2005 03:23 PM

for the record i have no plans to even attempt that, i'm just curious as to the costs involved

After Shock Media 08-08-2005 03:24 PM

You know you could always go the solo twink site route.
Just need a video camera, remote, lights, mirror and some baby oil. You will be set I tell you, set!

And yes, that is Rock bottom low. And when you have that , let's not forget you need to put something in your members sections. Otherwise it's not going to retain for shit and you will scrap the project because it doesn't rebill like it should and your out your minimum 24K.

CCbill & Epoch are only once, not for every paysite. $1k on promo material seems a bit much. You could get those scenes for a bit less too, if you order all at once.

Used 1k on promo because I also used 1k on design, odds are design will cost more than the promo but together it comes in around at which most decent designers do for a package.
You could get the scenes for less yes. Though I really would expect to pay more if your using the better shooters. Not to mention this is just assuming it is normal hardcore nothing niche about it.
