Is The Shuttle Re-Entry On TV?

Anyone carrying live coverage? I see a lot of networks advertising the landing in FL will be on TV but not much else. The de-orbit burn to slow the shuttle down occurs at 12:46AM Pacific. Maybe they brought it back at night time in case there were any problems. That way most of us would be asleep.

You'll wake up when you hear the sonic boom. We hear it every time.

NaughtyRob 08-07-2005 11:36 PM

I think it is on at 4 am. Not sure if Eastern time or not. Anyone know?

DateDoc 08-07-2005 11:37 PM

Hmmm, not sure I'll hear it here in Northern CA.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 08-07-2005 11:37 PM

NBC indicated that they will be covering it live.

They're worried about the weather at the Cape - low cloud deck building - but their pressing ahead for landing - burning engines at 2:40am central time to slow the shuttle down a bit... here are some screenshots from the action packed NASA tv...

Landing has been scrapped. Possibly a 2nd chance about an hour after the originally scheduled time.

je_rome 08-08-2005 12:29 AM

it will be a risky landing they said. i feel the anxiety of the family of those astronauts.

xclusive 08-08-2005 12:29 AM

I hope that they get it down safe
